This is a thread were we can talk about Sonic the Hedgehog old games and new. We can also post our favorite games of the franchise and our most hated. Also I will be posting about upcoming Sonic games (only the ones that look good). So lets get started!

Sonic Unleashed- Sonic Unleashed is the new game for the main series of the Sonic series. It's running on the Hedgehog engine which looks fantastic. The gameplay looks very interesting because it's 2.5-D. When I say that I mean some of the areas will be played like the classic genesis games and the 3-D areas will play like Sonic and the Secret Rings as well as the Sonic Adventure games. Also one of the biggest things of this game is that Sonic will be turning into a Werehog....yeah it's not as bad as it sounds it actually resembles Knuckles gameplay from Sonic Adventure 2 Battle except instead of looking for Chaos Emeralds you just go and smash your way though the levels.

Here are some gameplay videos:

Release Date- November 18th

Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood- Now this is a Sonic RPG being made by Bioware (which by the way are gods of RPG's). Now you may be thinking this is just going to be your basic 1 hit next turn and etc. But not really you can land many combos with the touch screen by hitting circles that come on screen like Elite Beat Agents. You can have up to 4 players in a group and each character has a unique ability to find hidden items and to progress in the game. For example Sonic can run on ramps to get over hills, Tails can fly over holes, and Knuckles can smash big rocks. Also the Chao Garden is in the game. You can raise a Chao to a specific area of combat such as speed, power, combo attacks, and etc and give it to a character and what ever state you raised will increase.

Sonic the Black Knight- Now we don't know much about this game. But we do know it's the sequel to Sonic and the Secret Rings and that it's not on rails like Secret Rings. Also you have sword combat...I might have to see more into this.

Release Date- Spring 2009

Now for the Sonic games I like:

Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis and Master System
Sonic 2 and Sonic 2 and Knuckles
Sonic 3 and Knuckles
Sonic CD
Sonic Chaos
Sonic Advance
Sonic Advance 3
Sonic Rush and Rush Adventure
Sonic Adventure (Dreamcast)
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle
Sonic Heroes (gamecube)
Sonic Shuffle
Sonic and the Secret Rings

---------------------------

Sonic games I really hate:

Sonic Next Gen (I give it -15,000,000,000/10)
Sonic 3-D Blast
Sonic 2 (Game Gear)
Sonic Drift 1 and 2
Sonic Adventure DX Directors Cut (Needed more time)
Sonic R
Sonic Labyrinth
Sonic Spinball (Game Gear)
Sonic Riders 1 and Zero Gravity

I can't wait to get Unleashed and Chronicles but I'm not too sure about Black Knight. As far as your likes and dislikes lists I have to agree with what you put down.

I recently got a Genesis from a local flea market (I was not fortunate enough to be raised on SEGA consoles). One of the first games I wanted to get was Sonic 3. Unfortunately, my friend got to it first. That (when locked onto Sonic & Knuckles) is my favorite of the classic games. Sonic 2 also ranks in my tops for the classic games. I know there is a Mega Collection for the classics, but playing it on the Genesis feels more authentic. As for the newer games, the only one I have played is Sonic Rush and I absolutely loved it.
