The Protomen (A Game Based Band)

So, recently I've stumbled across a band called The Protomen. They are a band that makes songs based around the NES Megaman games, but they do it by the means of mimicking glorious 80s rock opera. They've taken the simple and near plotless Megaman and turned it into a long and dramatic tale of a world controlled by Dr. Wily and his robotic minions.

But enough trivial back story, give a couple of my favs a listen:

Unrest in the House of Light
Light Up the Night



All their Megaman related songs are probably best listened to in order though as they are one big story.

They have quickly become one of my favorite bands.

Powerglove is another good 'game-based' band. They do metal versions of retro game songs. I recognize most of them, and had the privelage of playing a lot of the originals on my Sega and my friend's NES. Anyway, check them out on YouTube.

Anyway, I've heard the protomen, they're not as good as The Megas in my point of view, but they're still good.
