Alright, so we all know Black and White are coming out next year... So, everyone agrees that it will most likly change the meta, correct? :shy:

Honestly, I'm not too sure what I'm talking about... But let's say that the "Gust of Wind" (Bug Catcher) is released :O (Not even sure if it's 'for-sure'. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.)

Wouldn't this disrupt the tiers!!! :O

Luxchomp is well known for dragging up pokemon whether it's a pokemon with potential, to kill it early, OR a Pokemon with high retreat, to snipe around it. Wouldn't the Gust of wind card make Luxray's Credibility go down?

And what about Donphan and Gyarados? These two, along with a slew of others, will seem to do even better when they can bring up any pokemon and try to trample through it!

Not only the "Gust of Wind" Card, but I'm sure there are a variety of new cards that could impact the metagame!

Again, I'm not too sure what I'm talking about :p BUT I would like some crazy discussion to get going. Do you think that the metagame will change before nationals next year? Thanks for reading!

Machamp, Gyarados, and Possibly donphan will grow in popularity, and the amount of Luxchomp will decrease, but Luxchomp will still be Teir 1.

Umm... Call of Legends isn't supposed to have a Gust of Wind reprint, as far as I know. B&W just has a new trainer called Pokemon Catcher with Gust of Wind's effect.

With black and white I can see a whole load more stage 2 decks being run, encorporating the starter stage 2s and other stage twos from B&W.
Luxchomp and sp in general i think will decrease.
Depending on whether lost world is released and/or legal we will se a whole load of gengar varients.

I'm actually really looking forward to next years rotation as the sp engine will be gone with platinum, g-dos will go and so will machamp and gengar SF which mens that most people will start running new decks probably heavily prime based with influences from black and white.

Pokemon catcher will make luxray a bit less popular but will make trainer lock bigger as lots of people will be wanting to avoid it, i can see vileplume being put in a variety of grass decks as gengar SF will be gone.

^ the addition of Vileplume will increase Dialgachomp, won't it?

HAHAHA Luxchomp...Tier 1...Not after Lostgar lol. Lostgar gets rid of the Xs early game and the Xs are what makes the deck so good. Standard Luxchomp builds run at least 5 Xs (2 Garchomp 2 Luxray 1 Uxie), so you're bound to start with it, which makes it unplayable, which makes it Lostgar bait. Luxchomp and SPs not including Sablock and DialgaChomp will hardly be playable.

That all comes down to chance however Tyraniking, lostgar dosnt have good damage output the only way it can win is if you pitch for lost world and even then SP out speeds you most likely.

The Format will change in two ways. First, before the rotation, certain fast decks will become the best decks in the Format (stuff like Gyarados, Machamp, Donphan, etc.) They get all kinds of support with Pokemon Catcher and Energy Removal as well. Lux will still be a factor to consider until the deck loses support. The rest of the Format will change based on the rotation and the new rules (both are a tad early to speculate, but will undoubtedly change the environment).

dmaster out.

Judging by what I'm noticing Call of Legends seems to be a very lackluster set seeing as the only good card out of that set is Lost World and everything else might not be that good depending on what TPCi or Pokemon USA throws at us.

Yeah LostGar is going to be without a doubt Tier 1 and has the potential to beat LuxChomp out cold. It really depends on whether Gengar Prime and/or Palkia G Lv. X gets Luxray GL Lv. X in the Lost Zone to clench the victory.

I'm actually looking forward more to Black/White than Call of Legends to be honest. More playable cards for new deck archetypes and possibilities seeing as how in Call of Legends it will be very limited as it has been in the recent HeartGold/SoulSilver sets since the power creep of the game has died down drastically since Diamond/Pearl.

Catcher will make Vile___ more popular, LuxChomp less popular, speed decks better, and DialgaChomp more popular due to the rise in Vile___. Apart from that, I'm not too sure a lot of other changes in the meta will come.
