Hello everyone! We’re just a few weeks away from the NAIC, a tournament that looks like it will snag the title for largest tournament ever outside of Japan and China. It is also the biggest tournament of the year for many players, and is the last chance to get those much-needed points to try to get into (or stay in) those coveted top spots for the World Championships invite.
Making things more fun is that the NAIC will be played in a new format, as the just-released Destined Rivals set will make its tournament debut. Destined Rivals continues the theme of Trainer’s Pokemon, adding to the mix Misty, Ethan, Cynthia, Marnie, Steven, and, of course, Team Rocket. In addition, there are a few strong new tech Pokemon, such as Shaymin, which gives us back a form of Bench Barrier. Over here in Japan though, the format with these cards isn’t all that different from the format currently being...

Tired of saying "I told you so" again and again, especially when so many people insisted she's not just a TCharizard ex's needless reincarnation.

Picnic Basket might start seeing play now to counter the two big spread decks in town (one of which makes extensive use of Munkidori) and to disrupt Gardevoir players’ game plans.

It plays completely differently to zard lmao. The only similarity is that it’s a self-accelerating stage 2

Grimmsnarl is completely in line with the last 10+ years of power level. Your wordy custom cards is where you are comfortable, and that's fine. No need to come in here to troll people who play the actual game.

With... B&W? Really?
Nobody's forcing people to angrily reply to my messages with things that are patently false and, as you can see, I am avoiding repeating the same discussion for the xth time.
But if you're worried about the few people left that care about the actual game, you would be more concerned with the fact this is the only discussion in a long time that that doesn't revolve around people not even having access to new cards.

Nobody here has said anything that is "patently false". They've disagreed with your opinion. There is a huge difference in those things. People here react angrily to you because you treat your opinions like some kind of objective fact and are smugly condescending to everyone else. If you actually tried to have a discussion, instead of just talking about how "right" you are all time, maybe we'd actually get somewhere more productive.

Marnie's Grimmsnarl isn't some overwhelmingly busted card, it's had a few good results at a few events. That's really it. Clearly you aren't avoiding the same discussion because you come into every thread pretending to be some kind of PTCG Nostradamus, rewalking the same tired opinions we've all had to hear over and over again that simply don't line up with what the rest of us see in reality. If M's Grimmsnarl was such a busted card it would be a tier 0 format with only this deck but it's not.

But if you're worried about the few people left that care about the actual game, you would be more concerned with the fact this is the only discussion in a long time that that doesn't revolve around people not even having access to new cards.
Yeah, if you ignore the constant articles involving deck profiles and all the discussion surrounding card viability on spoiler threads then this is the "only" discussion for a long time.

Keep in mind, you were the first to come into this thread to reply in a smarky & condescending way. Which begs the queston, why?
It's an interesting question with interesting answers, touching on how players are often unable, and in fact get angry when asked to consider viewpoints other than their own. But it's not a discussion worth having, because there is no outcome of it that's positive.
I don't respond snarkily to people unless they do so first. I don't comment much anyway, since I've lost interest in most of the game. I've realized most of topics I like to cover touch on systematic issues, something that people find hard to conceptualize, and therefore simply end with people talking about their personal perception.
I feel somewhat vindicated that Pocket - currently the second most-profitable app in the world - still has the majority of its players avoid the actual "gameplay" part, because it follows the same unappealing balance principles. That the amount of discussions here are gradually dwindling down, unless they touch upon scalping or collecting. That many Leagues I know of have issues inviting new players, and how the majority of these remaining players belong to a single hypercompetitive psychographic type. None of this makes me happy, but it's been an obvious outcome, inevitable regardless of how one wants to plug their ears.

So no, I am not planning on having any of these discussions again, and you are the one that chooses who you reply to.

>redesigns entire base set to suit his own insane view of what card balance should be
>do the wave gyarados
>poison counters
>suggests a petition to TPCi to get it into ptcgl on account of how much better it is compared to modern card design
>“nobody understands me because my brain is so huge”

Ok buddy. I think grimmsnarl is average. inoffensive card design comparatively. Its fine if you disagree.

I literally told him that the issue wasn't his opinions - It was his attitude and he claimed that I "get angry when asked to consider viewpoints other than my own"

But hey, nobody was accusing him of reading comprehension.

I'll take "Actual Delusions of a Malfunctioning Mind" for $500, Bob.
It was never my goal to make anyone feel inferior or stupid. If you feel overwhelmed by these feelings, this is entirely on you.
