Teching the Tank: How can Steelix cope with Fire?

As you can guess I use a Steelix deck, right from the release of HS:UL. Since Erik Nance made it top cut more people are giving Steelix a chance, but so far no one has found a solution to counter Fire Pokemon, especially SP because they're just so fast.

I'm not about to give up the deck entirely, firstly because I don't like spending to built a totally new deck and secondly because I like Metal Pokemon. I've tried these techs in my deck:

Nidoqueen: Healer and excellent secondary attacker against Fire decks.
Luxray LA: DCE and Belt for a 110 damage Plasma, good for SP.
Kingdra Prime: Doesn't really guarantee a kill, but nice Poke-Power.
Machamp SF: On par with Nidoqueen for best results, great against all SP.

After BR I might try Poliwrath LA. It is Water-type, but requires Fighting energy which is just as well cause Onix can use them too.

Feedback, critic and discuss!

The big problem here is SPs will run Luxray, meaning even if you wall they're likely to drag Steelix up and KO with a {R} attack. They can only do this so many times, but Steelix takes long enough to charge up that it'll be a problem either way. SPs are not going to trainer-lock themselves, so maybe a 1-0-1 Exploud SV w/Rare Candy can be tech'd to deal with weakness.

There's already a thread discussing Steelix Prime in the State of the Game forum. Sorry, but we don't need two topics talking about one card.

Moved.

^ seems like a ridiculous idea, but could actually work.
That's probably the most simple solution, next to teching in a water type.
