Details: Moltan is one tough contender in the team. Boosting one of the highest Special Attacks stats he takes lead as the leader of Omega Squad. Moltans job is to set-up Stealth Rock then go on the attack with three powerful attacks. Fire Blast holds STAB as the most powerful Fire attack in his arsenal and can OHKO the likes of Ferrothorn, Forretress and Scizor in no time flat. Earth Power is a fine way to deal with pesky pokemon like Infernape and Lucario who both take a fairly large amount of damage. Finally Hidden Power can send Dragon-types like Dragonite and Salamence to a crash landing in one attack. This rounded out set allows for Moltan to be a very rounded pokemon with some coverage areas that other leads may not be able to fill.
Weaknesses: Moltans three bigest weaknesses are Water, Ground and Fighting pokemon and moves. Moltans Air Balloon won't last forever so once its gone he will be vaulnerable to powerful Ground-type moves such as Earthquake. Fast Fighting-types like Infernape, Meinshao and Lucario can OHKO Moltan with moves like Close Combat, Aura Sphere and Hi Jump Kick. Finally Water-type moves from pokemon like Politoed and Starmie can destroy him. Hydro Pump and Surf being the most common will 10/10 times OHKO in one shot.
Support: Moltans draw back to three types make him a fairly easy target however support from a Grass-type like Ferrothorn or Verizion can cure the Water and Ground weakness. While support from Latios can cure the Fighting weakness. Jellicents typing and Water Absorb ability make him a great partner since he can absorb Water attacks and not take damage from Fighting-type moves. This when combind with Wish Support Blissey allows for Moltan to work as long as he can before he is finally taken out.
