Since when is your opponent a Pokémon? (See the wording for Ampharos' Ability)

I also think that you can increase it to 2 damage counters. A Stage-2 isn't that easy to set up and this makes it pretty weak.
Anyway, you did a good job on these! :p

Also, if you are up on requests for these battle decks, would you mind doing a Bisharp BREAK + Arbok EX battle deck? :)

I also think that you can increase it to 2 damage counters. A Stage-2 isn't that easy to set up and this makes it pretty weak.

Really nice update once again, steff! I really like Light Tropius's Ability in particular, as it's an effect I don't believe we've seen ever before, in real cards or in the faking world. The wording concerns me a bit, though, because it seems it would stack––two Light Tropius would let you play an Item card four times, which is rather overpowered, if you don't mind my saying so.

I'd suggest something along the lines of this:

"Whenever you play an Item card from your hand, play it twice."

You could also add "you may" or something, if you'd like, since most effects related to playing cards don't force you to do it, IIRC.

Oh right, missed that part. Yeah, I think that would work. Perhaps "either player" instead of "a player"? @bbninjas would know the wording on that one better than I would.
 
Jabber has it right. Anyways, even in this form, the effect is still pretty broken. Although it appears like a neat form of balancing, making an effect affect both players is still far more advantageous for you. This is because you can prepare, but your opponent cannot. You could choose to include tons of powerful Item cards (Crushing Hammer, Lasers, Puzzle of Time [which in particular breaks with this effect) etc) while your opponent's most powerful card might be a measly VS Seeker. You have the clear advantage here.

The artwork (except the Garchomp of course) is made by me, recolouring an image to make it more Sugimori'ish, and the artwork in its entirety can be seen here! :D

I think I'll stick with just making text-based cards, and then occasionally post artworks in my art thread in Smeargle's Canvas :)
