Okay, so after a 8 year hiatus, I have decided to play the greatest TCG ever once again... I've been building up a deck which is relatively cheap to assemble, and play. This is what I have so far - As I am new to the game, there will be obvious room for improvement because i'm not 100% aware of all the cards and what they can do. So I will post the list I have (not 60 cards) and see what you think.

Pokemon: 10
x4 Vulpix
x4 Ninetales
x2 Mewtwo EX

Trainers: 36
x4 Hypnotoxic Laser
x2 Virbank City Gym
x4 Ultra Ball
x4 Prof. Juniper
x4 N
x3 Skyla
x3 Rocky Helmet
x3 Hugh
x3 Pokemon Catcher
x1 Dowsing Machine
x2 Switch
x3 First Ticket

Energy: 12
x8 Fire
x4 Psychic

So the idea of the deck is to start FIRST and singe with Vulpix, next turn you should pretty much always have a ninetales out, with the defending pokemon burned. From this, hypnotoxic laser can inflict another 1-2 special conditions, dealing at least 120 damage by turn two. Then rinse and repeat really, whilst using Rocky helmet to inflict more damage and having Virbank out to double poison damage.

I have Mewtwo EX in there in case something goes wrong, you can bring in the hard hitter. I have also thought about using the following pokemon line, which goes for the same approach but with more conditions.

x4 Vulpix
x4 Ninetales
x3 Foongus
x2 Amoonguss

Played with x4 Devolution Spray, this is designed to Keep playing down Amonguss each turn to apply 2 definite conditions. A bit more dodgy, as it may go horribly astray and you may start with a solitary Foongus!

Opinions and alterations would be much appreciated as I am essentially a new player to this format.

Thanks guys!

your second pokemon line looks better, its a really fun deck Ninetails/Amoonguss below is a youtube video of this deck being played on the Pokemon TCG Online.

Oh cool! I didn't realise this deck was being played. I personally do like the second line also. Key trainer cards look similiar. Also he plays Emolga? Filling the bench I guess, but I prefer the speed if you start with a Vulpix.

Okay after watching that for a bit and discovering some new cards, I have a new list here:

Pokemon: 15
x4 Vulpix
x4 Ninetales
x3 Foongus
x2 Amonguss
x2 Emolga

Trainer: 37
x3 Virbank City Gym
x4 Hypnotoxic Laser
x4 Devolution Spray
x2 Switch
x3 Prof. Juniper
x1 Computer Search
x4 Level Ball
x1 Colress
x4 N
x4 Bianca
x3 Skyla
x3 First Ticket
x1 Super Rod

Energy: 8
x8 Fire Energy

Same tactic, Just with more fluidity now - and Emolga in there in case you need to extend bench and get the game lasting a little longer, also good with its free retreat cost.

More opinions would be much appreciated :D
