  • 6 Grass Energy
    6 Psychic Energy

Strategy:

This is primarily a fun deck that could possibly become somewhat competitive. The strategy is to try and start off the game with Virizion, Bellsprout and Cofagrigus. Use Virizion's Emerald Sash to get energies onto Bellsprout so you can get Confusion/Poison around Turn 2/3. Dragalge prevents retreating from poison, while Cofagrigus's attack forces confusion damage. You can also KO it to get some sneaky damage on. Shaymin is for support.

This deck matches really well with Malamar or other Fliptini decks, prevents sleep from hypnotoxic and renders flip based trainers like Roller Skates and Pokemon Catcher useless.

<13/12/14> [VS Yveltal/Malamar] 1:6 Comments: Ran out of [G] Energy quickly; Hard to power up Pokemon. Slap of Misfortune rendered all except Baby Yveltal useless. +1 Grass NRG, -1 Psychic NRG MVP Cofagrigus
<13/12/14> [VS Toad/Garb] 0:6 Comments: Great Resistance against punch (10 damage on Viriz), Head Ringer was damaging - couldn't Emerald Sash. Never damaged the opponent :/ MVP N/A
<13/12/14> [VS ???/Garb] 6:0 Comments: Weakness Advantage; Garbotoxin didn't affect as Victreebel didn't get out quickly. Benched Out opponent. MVP Cofagrigus
<13/12/14> [VS Nightmarch] 6:0 Comments: Both sides were slow to set up; Benched out opponent. Didn't get Victreebel in play. MVP Cofagrigus
<13/12/14> [VS Nightmarch] 0:6 Comments: Shaymin Benched Out
<16/12/14> [VS Toad/Pyroar] 0:6 Comments: Benched out Yanmask Turn 1.

-1 Mewtwo-EX
-3 Energy Switch
-2 Energy Retrieval
-1 Pokemon Breeder (This card isn't legal and Rare Candy serves the sme purpose; you have enough for your interests.)
-2 DCE
-2 Grass Energy

+1 Shaymin-EX
+2 Pokemon Fan Club
+1 Life Dew ACE SPEC / Computer Search ACE SPEC
+1 Lysandre's Trump Card
+1 Professor's Letter
+1 Starling Megahone
+4 Psychic Energy

Mewtwo is your only attacker to rely on DCE, so keeping it in is inconsistent. Typically decks that use Mewtwo-EX already run other attackers that rely on DCE or can abuse it, like Seismitoad-EX, Yveltal-EX, Flareon, etc. Cofagrigus istelf can help in a Mewtwo war, as Slap of Misfortune will OHKO Mewtwo with the aid of a Muscle Band regardless. You're also very low on Psychic Energy, so let's replace the DCE and two Grass energy with those. The Grass is used mainly for Victreebel, which only needs one to use its Ability. Cofagrigus on the other hand needs a hefty two Psychic energy just to attacki. As for replacing Mewtwo, you could do a third Virizion, but I would reccommend Shaymin-EX. Revenge Blast couples nicely with your strategy, as you can expect Cofagrigus to get KOed whenever your opponent launches a sucessful attack (Keep in mind Switch and Keldeo-EX can both break your lock).

THe changes I'm suggesting for the Trainers are to improve efficiency and consistency. Lysandre's Trump Card will put all that Grass energy back into your deck you can Emerald Slash it out. It also goes well with Skyla and Life Dew, which is worth trying out as an ACE SPEC (you're not running any ACE SPEC as it is). Life Dew can deny your opponent prizes, and makes it easier to use Six Feet Under when you need to. If you're feeling less adventurous though, Computer Search is the standard go-to for your ACE SPEC. Megaphone is essential for dealing with Garbodor decks. While it won't help you against Toad, the type advantage will give you a decent matchup there anyway. You also need a lot of Pokemon on your bench early, so Fan Club is a good choice, though you don't want to run too many so as not to clog your deck when you need draw support.

All in all, this looks like an interesting rogue that could perform respectably in our current metagame with testing and tweaking. Donphan is the deck that will provide the worst matchup, as they can use Robo Subsitutes to deny you prizes while continuing to chip away at your team with Spinning Turn. I hope you find these comments helpful, and I look forward to seeing where you go with this!

Thanks Keldeo! I actually meant the Fan Club not the Breeder (I got the two mixed up). I'm currently testing it in TCGONE, so I'll see how it goes.

Is it worth putting in Laserbank? They synergy also works well with Dragalge.

Have you thought about using Drowsee from FFI? It's attack is basically the same as slap of misfortune, though it does no damage for 1 energy. Its also a basic pokemon that could free up deck space and help your deck set up a little quicker.

Yeah, I have. I may try it out a bit later. Drowzee is actually where the idea came from.
