Share Your Music!
Members here are allowed to post links to videos/audio recordings of them playing their instrument, and other members are allowed to post constructive criticism for those who do. Don't take it too harshly, nobody's perfect.
I need to set some ground rules before we do this, though:
  • Constructive Criticism only, please. Posting something like "you suck" won't help anyone at all. And it sure won't do you any good.
  • Audio Recordings ONLY if you're under 13. Wouldn't want to break any COPPA laws. :/

Conclusion
Well, that pretty much sums it up. Please join if you like any kind of music, and make sure to PM the application to me. Have fun!

Please remember to PM all Group Applications to the Group Leader (42 chocolate).

dmaster out.

Thanks, dmaster!

I'll start the discussion by comparing and contrasting the violin/viola:
The ways you hold the instruments are very similar, as are the designs. So, in terms of shape the violin and viola are pretty much the same. The viola tends to be bigger, though.

However, in sound, they differ greatly. First off, the viola's sound is deep and warm, while the violin is more high, and sometimes, shrill. Each have four strings, but the viola's are (highest to lowest) A, D, G, C, while the violin's are (highest to lowest) E, A, D, G. This is one of the things that contributes to the sound of each. On the viola, a wider vibrato (wiggling your finger back and forth on the string) is used, whereas on the violin, typically, you want to have a faster vibrato. I can't think of anything else at the moment, so feel free to share what others may not know about your instrument! (As the topic dictates. ;D)

Differences between Bb clarinet and bass clarinet:

Bb clarinet cannot play low Eb. It has a strait bell and it has a woody tone.

Bass clarinet has the low Eb key and is one and a half octives below its played notes. It has a curved bell and it has a more metalic tone.

Well there are different kinds of flutes(concert, soprano, bass, piccolo, etc.) and tubas. They differ by shape and octave range, so not much to say there.

A piccolo sounds very different from a flute. Even in the lower register, where the range overlaps that of a flute, it's far brighter in tone, not nearly as clear as a flute.

As for recorders, the smallest ones have a very bright and clear sound. The bigger you get, the warmer and richer the tone becomes.

I'll probably post a composition I'm working on shortly.

They are. However, they still sound quite different. It's like a violin and a cello. They're both in the same family, but they sound very different.

Still I was talking about the family and the bases of the sound is still the same. Of course I know they don't sound the same, piccolo gets on peoples nerves faster than the flute.

There are more remember when bubba(I think) ran it. We had a lot of members then, lets just avoid the whole rap discussion.

...I didn't forget about this. I've been checking it every day. No one seems to be interested, though. I'm pretty nice and all, but I don't allow people in if they don't title their PM correctly from reading the rules, because that shows me that they didn't. Either PokéBeach just doesn't have any members interested in music anymore (which is practically impossible,) or we're not doing enough advertising & such.

I'll try a new topic:
What do you think of the Share Your Music activity? Post some thoughts.

Can I tell you music or do I have to upload it?

Oh, well I'm playing Thriller, WICKED, and this funny song called Ghosts in the Grvayard on bass clarinet right now. They're all quite fun.

You can get a music program that will take care of all that for you. ;)

Anyway... I figure it's about time I put up something I did.

Here ya go. :p

Well, since nobody's posting, I should probably bump this before it dies. :/

DarthPika, how exactly did you make that? And what type of music software did you use?
