If the set that the secret rare is in the format next rotation the you can use any earlier prints of the card.
You can still use Base Set Switches, right? ...Right?
All reprints follow the same principle. If any card is reprinted in a later set, in any form, you can still use earlier prints of that card, with references only needed if there's a drastic text change.
