Card of the Day: Recycle

With Junk Arm leaving the format, we no longer have a reliable and/or universal means to recover Item cards! Enter Recycle, the closest card we have to solve that loss of Junk Arm problem! I have NEVER seen or read about people playtesting with it, and, to their credit, its quite likely ignored because of the flipping effect, causing it to fail more or less half the time. Still though, Hammertime and Durant Mill utilize Crushing Hammer a lot, and that card is flippy too! Recovering a trainer card from your discard pile, as we've seen from the last format, is a VERY powerful strength, and I argue that it is worth the coin flip!

Keep in mind that since the card goes to the top of your deck, you'll need a straight-draw effect afterwards to get the card to your hand, like Juniper, Cheren, or Bianca.
Its also worth noting that unlike Junk Arm, Recycle can recover ANY card from the discard pile: Evolutions, Energies, Supporters, you name it! You could recover a Pokemon you needed to discard for Ultra Ball or Juniper during a previous turn, for example.

I give this card an 8/10 for Playability, its a LOT like Junk Arm, with a Coin Flip, so just make sure you run 3-4 of it for consistency. Crushing Hammer and Super Scoop Up have wrestled for their mettle, so why not this card?

Ah, Recycle, the card that seems good on paper but falls short in testing. It's the only card BW-on, besides I think Trubbish, that can recover Special Energy from the discard. It would be pretty good in Darkrai/Hydreigon decks, because if the flip goes badly you can just get it back, but other than that, the flippiness kills it. I'd give it a 7/10 for playability. I can't tell what that is on the art, so it gets a 4/10.

I've used flippy cards before back in the day and if you have to take a risk this is one of the better ones to try.(right up there with pokeball) That said it's still a risk and is only worth it if you have nothing better to play. Super rod can get back most things(except not trainers or special energy) so I'm not sure I see the point of this fossil reprint.[my old ones are printed the same way]
