Meet Clefable. One of the always under appreciated pokemon in the meta. It's been in the lower tiers for as long as anyone can remember. But, In X & Y it has gotten a chance to shiny for all it's worth. It's was blessed with fairy type. [Pretty obvious, tho.] The abilities that it has are amazing, And it's stats did recieve a little bit of a boost. 95/70/73/95/90 /60

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
-Moonlight
-Encore
-Moonblast
-Fire Blast / Flamethrower

Moonlight- Clefable as well as it can take attacks. It still needs it's recovery in battle. Moonlight heals 50% of your HP. Making Clefable better to take attacks in the battle. Giving that it has 60 base stats in Speed it's pretty slow in the battle. But, It shouldn't be as bad.

Encore- Given that I have Unaware. Magic Guard is the more common variant of these abilities of Clefable. And that's why I have Encore. Imo, on a Magic Guard Clefable you can set up on it. But not Unaware. And this is what Encore is for. Opponents may think that after a few SDs, Dragon Dances, Bulk Ups. That they will destroy Clefable. #NOPE! Cause I have Unaware. Encore traps the opponent into the move that it used last used.

Moonblast- Moonblast is main STAB on Clefable. Moonblast is more handy than alot of things in the fairy type movepool. Being able to lower the SAtk of opponents by 1 is very handy in most causes since I am not invested in SDef.

Fire Blast / Flamethrower - Fire Blast imo would be the better choice for the better power. But, If you want 100% accuracy for the attacks, Then run Flamethrower. This is the coverage for Clefable. As well as it's invested. It can take SOME attacks and retailate back.

Set Counters & Checks!

mawile-mega.gif
- M-Mawile [Any Variant]

Mawile doesn't really "need" to set up on Clefable. There isn't a chance that it will then this becomes will not be a counter to Clefable. It can Iron Head dealing a immense amount of damage right on the go. But, the gooder side of this is that it can be Encored if it went for a SD. Then Clefable can counter it with Flamethrower / Fire Blast.

metagross.gif
- Metagross [Assault Vest]

Metagross since it has a Assault Vest. Has no need to do the inquiry to set up. Since Assault Vest disallows you from using moves that deal no damage. Meteor Mash + Bullet Punch will be enough to get Clefable down. Metagross is faster than Clefable so it can put a hit first.

landorus.gif
- Landorous - [Life Orb + Sludge Wave]

Landorous is a all around powerhouse. Clefable can't really do to much to Landorous outside of Moonlight stall. And or get off one Moonblast. Landorous when using Sludge Wave can 2HKO Clefable. Even using Earth Power can be a 2HKO on Clefable.

genesect.gif
- Genesect [Choice Band Variants]

I will mention Genesect but I do have a bit of a shaky theory on it. Choice Band automatically alters the atk stat by 1. Does that by pass Unaware? I am not sure. If so, Iron Head will be doing better damage. But, Download is out of the question since Clefable has Unaware. So, Clefable will be getting hit with +1 Iron Heads. But, If Unaware counters the boost made by CB. Then it can take a Iron Head and hit it back with Flamethrower.

I Recommend!

mandibuzz.gif
- Mandibuzz [Defensive Variants]

I recommend Mandibuzz for a few reasons. 1: Defog the reason why I say Defog as soon as possible cause this doesn't blow the bluff that your Clefable is Magic Guard. And plus, 2: Manidbuzz can take most of the hits coming from the above threats just fine to somewhat decent. Then it can also Foul Play which in conjuction with Encores from Clefable.

jirachi.gif
- Jirachi [Mixed Attacker]

Jirachi can be a answer to some of the pokemon in the list. It doesn't stop Landorous not at all. And has some trouble around Metagross as well. But Mandibuzz can take care of them both. Jirachi can actually take away the boosts coming from some pokemon like M-Mawile. Or Toxicroak. And proceed to hit them back hard with thinks like a Shadow Ball.

I'm not sure how viable Encore is on Unaware Clefable. Softboiled is illegal with Unaware, so you either have to run Moonlight, which is ruined by sand (helped by sun, but sand is more common and a bigger threat) or Wish, which needs Protect to function properly. Using Encore over Protect doesn't really seem to worth it because although locking them into a boosting move sounds good, you still wall them regardless and can reliably heal with Wish+Protect instead of hoping your opponent doesn't use sand. I just don't feel you have much to gain by using Encore on things you already wall over more reliable recovery that also doubles as cleric support to heal your teammates. Unaware and Encore are both good, though, but I feel Encore would be more useful on a Magic Guard set that can use Softboiled.

I don't know why you list Genesect and Mega Mawile as checks when this is an OU set and both are banned from OU. I can get Mawile because it was banned recently, but Genesect has been gone since like March. More importantly, why is Heatran not listed? Heatran can take anything you can throw at it and destroy you with Toxic (+Protect) or Flash Canon because you lack Magic Guard and Calm Mind. Also Excadrill and Scizor are more relevant threats than Metagross.

For teammates, I feel specially defensive Gliscor, Restalk Gyarados, or bulky Charizard Y would be best because they're the only counters to Landorus-I and are pretty solid checks to all of Clefable's threats (Char is killed by Excadrill's Rock Slide, but it outspeeds Exca and turns sand to sun, so it's still a check. It gets walled by Heatran, but Focus Miss may be an option. I'm unfamiliar with the set.)

Also for the sake of nitpicking, it's spelled Landorus. I can get the confusion and it's not that big of a deal, but the Pokemon has existed for 4 years now and I'm tired of seeing people not know how to spell the names of the genies/Kami trio/whatever.

Ah, Yes. I'm aware. When I posted this set Genesect was still OU. This set was made around Feburary. I honestly just forgot to reedit them. So, sorry about that.

Yeah, I am aware of Clefables threats such as Charizard-Y and stuff. But, I can't post them all as it would make the thread really long. There are tons of mons I did not mention here like Talonflame, Bisharp, Excadrill has enough to take 1 Fire Blast / Flamethrower from full. Togekiss is also viable as it eats up Clefables attacks. and has viable recovery in Roost / Wish.
I like to keep them low so it won't be as long so people won't wanna give it a read. If anything, think you or anyone else can tell me a way? I could do spoilers though.
