Pokemon Analysis

Pokemon: | Gabriel (Ferroseed) | Item: | Eviolite |
Ability: | Iron Barbs | EVs: | 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD |
Nature: | Relaxed | Moves: |
|
So this guy is the entry/hazard layer to my team. Eviolite boosts its already great Defense to even higher levels, and Iron Barbs are great against any user with a Life Orb. Spikes is the general hazard that is laid upon the field, and Leech Seed + Protect make for a nice healing combo. Thunder Wave would have been Stealth Rock, but since the set is illegal, I went for T-Wave to cripple sweepers such as Scyther. The Relaxed Nature seems a little odd because I don't run Gyro Ball in this set (which is a possible inclusion), but I find that Relaxed gives me just what I need, and Ferroseed rarely relies on Speed. The EVs are pretty mandatory too, because Ferroseed needs to have as much HP and Special Defense as it can get.

Pokemon: | bacon (Lilligant) | Item: | Life Orb |
Ability: | Chlorophyll | EVs: | 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe |
Nature: | Modest | Moves: |
|
Originally, I went with Cofagrigus, but I found I was in need of more offense, so Cofagrigus needed to go. Lilligant makes a great sweeper with Quiver Dance, and it uses Sleep Powder to slow down the opponent while Lilligant sets up. Giga Drain recovers the damage it takes from using Life Orb, and Hidden Power Rock covers anything else that resists Lilligant, and because Rock and Steel types are uncommon in RU, there isn't much to worry about. I went with a Modest Nature because I can usually set up a Quiver Dance and out speed the opponent, while it still gets the Special Attack boost from the Modest Nature. Chlorophyll is the best ability Lilligant is going to get, and can benefit greatly from any Sun users in RU. Finally, the EV spread maxes out Lilligant's Special Attack and Speed to its best ability.

Pokemon: | Kyle (Moltres) | Item: | Life Orb |
Ability: | Pressure | EVs: | 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe |
Nature: | Timid | Moves: |
|
Moltres is my special attacker, which can decimate teams when used at the right time. I chose Flame Body over Pressure because the chance for burning is always nice. Because Moltres is rather frail (not to mention the x4 Weakness to SR), Moltres needs to be able to be as quick as possible and needs the Special Attack stat to be large enough to KO all of the team's threats, which is why I chose the Timid Nature with 252 EVs in Special Attack and Speed. Fire Blast, Air Slash, and Hidden Power Grass hit almost anything in sight, and with the correct predictions I am able to make unexpected KOs (plus, the Air Slash flinch rate is nice combined with Ferro's T-Wave). Roost can actually help heal off some damage from Life Orb or damage taken from SR. I used Life Orb to boost Moltres' Special Attack stat to great heights, hitting Slowking for almost half of its HP with Hidden Power Grass.

Pokemon: | Bippa (Sharpedo) | Item: | Life Orb |
Ability: | Speed Boost | EVs: | 188 Atk / 184 SpA / 136 Spe |
Nature: | Naughty | Moves: |
|
Sharpedo is the Speed Boost sweeper. Speed Boost is mandatory so it can outspeed almost anything, and Life Orb is essential so its Attack stat can be large enough to deal KOs on almost anything. The EV spread and Nature are to boost Sharpedo's Attack and allow Sharpedo to hit 390 Speed after a Speed Boost, out speeding almost everything in sight. Hydro Pump and Crunch provide great STABs for Sharpedo, and Earthquake hits Drapion and other Pokemon weak to Ground types nicely. Protect is needed if I am not out speeding something, and desperately need the speed boost. The EVs invested in Special Attack are for Sharpedo's special moves so they can get the power they need.

Pokemon: | DNA (Claydol) | Item: | Leftovers |
Ability: | Levitate | EVs: | 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA |
Nature: | Bold | Moves: |
|
Claydol is my Rapid Spinner, a perfect partner for Moltres, who is x4 weak to Stealth Rock. Claydol uses Leftovers for lack of a better item, I suppose, and the Bold Nature gives it the bulk it needs. Levitate is self-explanatory, because it is the only ability Claydol gets. Rapid Spin is pretty simple as to why it is used, and rounds off the set. Stealth Rock is here because Ferroseed does not get access to it, and can cripple Moltres and Scyther. Ice Beam allows me to hit opposing Claydol and allows me to have some sort of a chance against users with Levitate, such as the Pixies. Earth Power is the last move of the set, letting Claydol hit Aggron, who would otherwise laugh at Claydol.

Pokemon: | Imakuni (Clefable) | Item: | Leftovers |
Ability: | Magic Guard | EVs: | 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD |
Nature: | Calm | Moves: |
|
Clefable finds its spot into the team as the last member, being the cleric and a perfect teammate for Cofagrigus. Magic Guard is one of the best abilities in the game IMO, and is what makes Clefable so awesome. Leftovers is used over something like Toxic Orb because with Toxic Spikes so common, such an item is not needed. Protect helps Clefable recover its HP combined with Leftovers, and Wish can support a fellow member of the team. Heal Bell is great if the team has been crippled by Thunder Waves from Ferroseed and Toxic Spikes from Scolipede, Qwilfish, or Drapion. Seismic Toss is my option for Taunt users and allows me to break Substitutes such as Honchkrow.
Threat List
[animate]549[/animate]: Lilligant is a heck of a sweeper, and not even Moltres can stop it after a Quiver Dance because of how devastating Sleep Powder can be. All I can really do against Lilligant is predict when it switches in and use Fire Blast/Air Slash with Moltres, or put Roar/some other phazer move on a Pokemon on my team.
[animate]306[/animate]: Aggron can be annoying with Head Smash because it takes no recoil damage with its Ability, Rock Head. Sharpedo and Claydol can stop it if it hasn't gotten too much momentum, but Aggron doesn't rely on a set up and sweep method, so my opponent can easily switch it out.
[animate]254[/animate]: If Moltres has been KOd, Sceptile will proceed to set up with Swords Dance and sweep, no questions asked. Energy Ball thrashes Sharpedo, and a boosted Leaf Storm shows the rest of my team no mercy. Moltres is able to deal with the pest, though, so if it still alive, there is usually not much to worry about.
[animate]211[/animate]: Qwilfish can be such a pain if I start Ferroseed. Even if I switch out, it can lay hazards all day, and if Claydol shows up to Rapid Spin, they'll send in Cofagrigus or Spiritomb and wall me. Sharpedo can usually stop it with Earthquake, though, even though it only 2HKOs it.
[animate]430[/animate]: Honchkrow is possibly one of the best counters to the team. I have no direct counter to it, and Substitute prevents Ferroseed from using T-Wave and Leech Seed, while Brave Bird and Sucker Punch KO pretty much anything on the team. Clefable can't touch it with Substitute up, so I feel Clefable might need Seismic Toss to deal with it.
Please help out if you can, and thanks for reading! The RMT formatter actually looks pretty good.
