Trainers are discarded once you have resolved their effect, unless it's written on the card that it stays in play for some reason (for example, if it's a Tool that gets attached to a Pokemon).

I assume this question was due to the fact that some players actually think that Rare Candy is placed between the Basic and the Stage 2. Oh well, I'm glad someone cleared that fact. THANK ARCEUS
