You might be thinking "Is this another one of the stupid nerd's spam proposals that make no sense at all?" The answer is, no. I have quite a long speech today.

I suppose that Water Pokemon Master will skip this thread entirely. If not, he'll come here and lock it. But I sincerely implore to him, please peruse through my thread thoroughly, and not treat it like a kid's words. I know that as a webmaster, you are a busy person. But everybody here will be willing to help, and it doesn't have to be done in a day. This will be a long-term project.

Firstly, you should all know by now that Pokebeach has an extremely well-built database of information on the TCG. We have card scans, card blanks, news, card reviews and several boards dedicated to the TCG.

But this is the limit of Pokebeach. We only focus on the TCG. The game and the anime, which are extremely popular and widely known aspects of Pokemon, are abandoned by our great site.

It's a pity to see such things. When I go to Serebii, I feel very lost. It's extremely crowded over there, and some of the moderators use foul language. But they make sure they get every part of Pokemon covered. And that's good.

But we do not need to make a Pokedex like them, no. What's the point of making one when another already has done it? Moreover, it will take too much of WPM's time.

Nevertheless, we can do something which no one else has done properly before: GBA Pokemon reviews. Smogon only focuses on movesets, not the Pokemon in general itself. I know that together with the ALC, ArmaldoEX started the reviews. Well, it's time to make them official.

Like Strategists, who currently do the card reviews, a new position could be made for people who do the GBA Pokemon Reviews. We can also offer more information of the games in other ways.

With regards to the anime, I noticed that Serebii's character bios are quite...you know. They don't tell us much of the trainer, and just their Pokemon. So probably we could write up on the main characters and their Pokemon.

It is very sad to see that such a great site like this only focuses on one aspect of Pokemon gaming. Unlike other sites, our moderators are extremely friendly and reliable. On other sites, some moderators use foul language.

Best regards,

The Nerdmaster.

He already has a bit of anime. The episodes he tapes are anime but he does need game walkthroughs and it will bring loads of people into the forums too.:) Imagine 1 million visitors per day like the dragonflies page.:)

Nothing about the Gaming has been done on the site mainly because:
1. D/P isn't out in English yet.
2. It's far too late, and semi-pointless, to start reviews for R/S/GBA stuff.

I have no doubt that SOMETHING will happen when D/P is fully released, but atm please be patient.

And why would people want to read about a Pokemon in general? For the Gaming industry people visit sites to get info on good movesets and strategies, not general useless Pokemon info since that's available anywhere. I admit that ArmaldoEx has done a good job so far on keeping the GBA reviews going, I never thought it would have lasted more than a few weeks.

Well, you are right, it never got far. But one of the reasons is because it is unofficial. Anyway, I did not mean Pokemon in general, but a thorough write-up on it. Extremely thorough.

What's there to be extremely thorough about though? Sure, you can pages and pages on a single Pokemon but who is going to read it all? People visit sites for very specific reasons and don't normally look for write ups on general Pokemon. They look for movesets, strategies, combos, breeding groups, etc.

What I would probably suggest is to have the standard moveset-strategy guide and add on an additional small write up about the Pokemon. That way there wouldn't be 2 separate articles, but one big one that everyone will want to read.

just an idea.... why dont you seet something up like Pokemon Reviews of the week where you do several at a time and put them together. Like 10 pokemon per week. Like this:

Weekly Reviews

Mewtwo-#150
Stats 8/10

and whatever else you wanna add in the review

then do

Bulbasaur-Venusaur #1-3
Stats 6/10
Overall 8/10

and like that..... have a multi thing a day.... I do think that Noobnerd had some good ideas to offer though. Whatever you wanna do...... I thought it was a great letter....

I have to disagree a little. We would like to focus more on TCG because WPM and the Pokebeach community itself are already experienced and they are regular to find sources, card blanks, etc. because they are HIGHLY wanted. Pokemon "happened" mostly because of TCG. Without TCG, there will be little or no Pokemon. However, we still have time for anime. Pokebeach is one of the few or even the only site who actually shows Anime eventhough it is only for a time being, but still. People only give facts and pictures about the anime, but we are showing the real thing. We also cover the Games fairly well. Seen how much WPM searches for D/P and Battle Revolution Videos and news for us? I'm already amazed enough with the news we get. BTW, try not to compare us with Serebii too much Noobnerd, I see that you are quite fond of Serebii, but you don't really have to compare us with them because each site has their own specialty.

Here's my 2 cents, maybe more.

Yeah, Beach focus more on TCG and Serebii focus more on Anime, that's all.

Serebii focus on games as well. But either way, why should we care? It is their problem that they have more resources for Anime and Games than us.

Although I agree with your brilliant proposal, having those aformentioned above is not important as Pokebeach focuses solely on TCG, if Pokebeach were to do such a thing, the popularity of those might overshadow the main focus, which is of course TCG.

Hmm...Very well. But just for clarification, I prefer Pokebeach to Serebii. We are less corrupt, crowded and confusing. Anyway, AEX, when saying that WPM also focuses on games and anime, I suppose you meant that in the form of news?

The Anime and Games have always been in sight since this site was established. I have to get TCG to the best before I move on to the other mediums. I think I am the only webmaster who has extensive knowledge in the TCG, Anime, and Games, so my site will eventually reflect that... even if it takes a couple of years, as it did with the TCG.

I have every single Pokemon Anime episode ever, so the first think I could do would be providing high quality screenshots of every episode. :D :D :D I also would probably work on a PokeDex, much better than anything out there, and luckily, I am sort of getting trained by someone in how to do that. But for this year, I want to finish the TCG portion of the site, and there is still a long way to go.

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO PEOPLE HELPING ME WRITE ABOUT EVERY SET?!?!

Whoops! Well, I would gladly help, but I just don't know what to write about the set. :/ See Noobnerd, WPM is an excellent Webmaster, he'll never miss a single detail. And yes, when I said that WPM focuses on Games and Anime, I mean in the form of news. Isn't that the only way to do so?

Whoopsy... But I don't know which set to write about...
DF - It is one of the best and overpowered sets around.
^^ I can only think of that right now... Lol

We could all help in different ways. But I have some things to say (and apparently it contradicts myself), and that is will it be fine if we make something that other Pokemon sites have done before?

Are you able to make videos of the epidodes? If you can it would be a great idea.:)

IIRC, Dreamhost can shut the whole Pokebeach.com down if the Videos are put on the site 24/7. So, keeping the episode will bring more bad than good. :(

We are not Youtube.

Will that summarise the video part? But screenshots are a different story.

Screenshots are a waste of time. Believe me, looking at them are sick and twisted. There is no use of them hanging around Pokebeach.
