Post length limit problem

I'm working on an article that has got a bit long and I've saved a draft of it, but when I try to preview it, the system sends me this message:

Please correct the following errors before continuing:
* The message is too long. Please enter a shorter message

I've looked at the rules but couldn't found anything about which is the limit for a post. What should I do? I'm not going to post the article until HGSS is released, but I don't know what will I do at the moment of posting it. Should I divide it in two parts and post the second one as a reply to the first (although it would be double posting)?

Edit: I just tried to save the article and it won´t allow me to do so because of the same reason. I've already made a copy on Word, but still.
 
There is a limit. I can't remember the exact number though. Maybe it'll let you save it as a PM Draft? If not I would just work on everything in Word for now.

Whenever you get ready to post the article, let me know in PM and I can help you with posting it. (There is a time limit so you can't double post one right after the other, so you'll need help.) You'll probably have to use two posts to post the whole thing.
 
It is probably 20,000 characters like it is on Serebii but just is not displayed like it is there though. Most length's are 20,000 characters unless the adimistrator changes it. (WPM is the administrator here).:)
 
That happened to me in my shop, but I checked the characters and it was something like 45,000. arg... 100,000 characters would be great O_O
 
Yeah it sure would help my player thread and it would be only 1 post if the character setting was larger than life. XD.LOL.:)
 
Right know, it´s got 42.812 character without spaces, and 50.687 with spaces, and I haven´t finished it yet.

I am very familiar with the word limit monster. Despite what the Admin CP will tell you, the limit to words in a post is roughly 12,000. What that translates to in characters, I don't know, but I can't for the life of me remove the limit.

Could you talk to WPM about getting rid of the limit? He migh be able to do something about that.:)
 
Hmmm...Seems like another one of those pain in the butt mybb features. I will look into this problem from the mybb angle you guys worry about the forum angle I'm sure we can find a fix somehow.

C88 how can you look into it when you are not a mod or admin of any kind? There is nothing you can do sadly. Only WPM or a mod can but WPM has to make the official change.:)

I have helped with several mybb issues as I help run a forum and have access to everything there. So yes I can help out, just ask WPM his self, or Shining_Raikou they both know I know my mybb.

Yeah 12,000 sounds right, but there really isent a set total anywhere on the site. Im guessing the reason he wont (or can't?) remove the word count is because there could be MAJOR spam threads. i know a local pokemon site dident have a set limit and we had people spam garbage with like 500,000 of the same word! Who has time to paste all that :/
 
It would be better if the trading are had a bottomless pit for threads but everywhere else would have a set limit. We need bottomless pits in the trading area as trading threads like mine are slowly getting bigger than ever now. Over on Poke Community forums there are a few threads that are 14 times bigger than my thread. I can post a link to a massive thread to show you what I mean and it is MUCH BIGGER than my thread. It makes my thread look really small.:)
