I have seen so much poor grammar that it is to die for.
Moreover, the rules clearly state that people have to use good grammar, and I do not know why this rule being enforced?
Come on people this is not a small matter, even though people can understand you, it still looks bad.

I am not complaining, but I feel this rule is not being enforced fully.

If you do not believe, maybe you should look below.

Courtesy Rules
Use spelling, grammar, and capital letters. "Pikachu are a species of Pokemon that have electrical cheeks," not "pikachus is spciec of Pokémon That has elctric cheeks." Using poor grammar and spelling often labels people as "n00bs," and less people pay attention to them. When many members do this, the same consequence applies to the entire forum. Plus, using correct spelling and grammar helps you practice for school. How do you think Water Pokemon Master learned to write so well, especially better than people in his own age group? If necessary, type your posts in Microsoft Word, then paste them here.
Use the "! report" button so mods can handle anyone who breaks the rules. Mods cannot read every thread in every forum, so help us by reporting posts that violate the rules or are offensive.
If someone does something you consider "bad," do not assume they originally had ill intention (this should apply in real life, too).

Some examples would be nice. This has been brought up before and I think we can all say that not everyone has perfect grammar. Do you know anyone who writes like that? And please do not bring up anyone who does not speak English as their first language.

Thwe reason why it has not been enforced yet is because WPM has been busy with other things that have to do with the site content. He has not had much time. He works very hard and has very little time to squeeze for updates.:)

Who ever said WPM had to do it, there are super mods for a reason. I do not get how people just cannot check it on Microsoft word it is what I do.

Before you attack other people about using poor grammar you should make 100% sure that you also made no errors. Bolded are two errors that you have made. The first one is grammatically incorrect as "it is to die for" is used to express ones like for something example: "this extremely delicous cake is to die for". The second error is that there should be an "isn't" between rule and being.

You are complaining about bad grammar, why else would you post this? The staff of Pokebeach are doing a pretty good job at keeping bad grammar away from the forums.

"Is not" sounds far better then "isn't"

Perfect grammar is not required but, in general, grammar needs to be improved. Mods and other authority try to work on this; because of those said mods, you should have used the "! report" to contact them about grammar. Better that then this pointless thread.

I have made a thread in the Writing Corner addressing (SP?) this problem. It is still in the works, but will eventually be a spelling and grammar FAQ much longer than the Noob Guide. Perhaps I should have made the thread here. I did not realize others were upset by the poor grammar.

So he misspelled one word, and your going to choose to say that's poor grammar? I've seen you misuse commas completely.

Um me , being asked to be a strategist , and loads of other stuff. (get on the forums please.)

Is just one example of poor grammar on your part. As stated above, you should improve your OWN grammar before getting on other people's cases.

The grammar around here hasn't been atrocious enough for us to have to call upon WPM to fix it, but I agree it's been slipping. As said above, just click on the "!" button I guess.

Please dont make a thread about poor grammar if you aren't going to bother putting capital letters in beginnings of sentences. Its just... lame.

Really, this thread is sucking up to the mods and WPM. I'm not trying to start a flame war, so I'll shut up now, but really guys, let the mods do what they have to do and don't complain if people do the wrong thing. The mods will deal with it. There is a law enforcing it already, so really what can come out of this?

BTW, I know my grammar sucks, so I'm not commenting on that side of the story.

Nobody has perfect grammer. People arent' perfect you know. I mean, I always mess up my sentences once in a while, but nobody seems to care except for the people who think they have superb grammer, like you. :p

EDIT: See what I mean? Look above, and you will see I already messed up without noticing...;)

>.< You completely missed the point of what I was trying to say.

I meant that no-body does have perfect grammar, and therefore making a thread about it is stupid unless you yourself have perfect grammar, which no-one does, but doing things like constantly missing off Capitals does not entitle you to make a thread about it. Since no-one has perfect Grammar, the solution is that if you care so much, tell everyone to put their posts throuhg a spellchecker, something which obviously the person who made this thread did not do.

At the end of the day, no-one has perfect grammar, but unless you do have perfect grammar and you put every post you make through a spell checker, I dont really see why a thread should be made.

I think the most annoying problems are...

1. People who don't capitalize the first letter of their sentences, or do not capitalize proper nouns and subjects or "I."
2. People who constantly misspell words in their sentences, as if theyy are nto loocing at teh kyboade wen tieping.
3. People who use contractions with no apostrophe, or put the apostrophe in the wrong place.

Just those "visual" problems make everything look junky here.

Next week I was going to tell the mods to issue warnings via the warning system for those types of infractions. I think...

1. People who don't capitalize the first letters of their sentences = 8% infraction
2. People who do not capitalize anything = 8% infraction
3. People who butcher the heck out of their sentences = 12% infraction
4. Apostrophe misuse = 10% infraction

Anything else?

I have a question about that, WPM:

Will the mods give an infraction to a person who usually types well but made a minor typo? Or will this be for people who constantly type like:

"I lik tpying liek dis."
"who carez bout grmamer!"
"uze potionz"
"I mkae tosn of ytpso."

I think a problem that should also be addressed is overuse of accronyms.

The whole discussion is fallacious because it's not feasible to infract every person that doesn't have perfect grammatical structure or spelling to every sentences. You could arbitrary make a judgement call about what grammar offense is worse, but again, that's incredibly arbitrary and arguably discriminatory against visitors to the site who's first language is not english. The policy shouldn't have anything to do with proper grammar, the policy should be too see that the poster attempted to use proper grammatical structure. If someone posts " I luvz pkoemnan yah! swtz!" it's quite obvious they didn't even make an attempt at standard syntax. Whereas if someone types "I enjoi Pokemon a lot, its sweet" it's obvious the sentence has grammatical and spelling issues but the poster obviously made an attempt to be understandable and shouldn't be infracted as opposed to the person that posted the initial example.

I agree Salice. I'm not very good at placing apostrophes but it's not my fault.
Why should I get in trouble for it?
If we enforce this rule everybody will be going back to previous posts and correcting them lowering the sites posting rate and popularity.
