RE: Pokemon Promo Cards page

I reviewed the list of Theme Deck Exclusive Cards. I agree that it is extremely difficult to find a precise list. Please consider these:

Thunderstorm Gift Box - "Galaxy Holofoil Pattern" Zapdos
http://pokebeach.com/tcg/thunderstorm-gift-box
Contains a Holo Zapdos from the Fossil Expansion, but with the Base 2 Holofoil design

2-Player CD-ROM Starter Set - "Galaxy Holofoil Pattern" Machamp
http://pokebeach.com/tcg/base-set-2/theme-decks#2-player-cd-rom-starter-set
Contains a Holo Machamp from the Base Set, but with the Base 2 Holofoil design (I should say sometimes, because I have pulled both versions before).

Master Trainer Gardevoir Deck
http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Gardevoir_Deck_%28TCG%29
(RS) Hariyama is marked as a Non-Holo in the list on bulbapedia, but is normally a Holo rare in the packs. (EDIT 12-11-10: not correct. bulbapedia error).

Epic Collection Feraligatr Deck
http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Feraligatr_ex_Deck_%28TCG%29
(EM) Swampert is marked as a Non-Holo in the list on bulbapedia, but is normally a Holo rare in the packs.
(UF) Feraligatr ""
(UF) Slowbro ""

(CG) Storm Surge Deck
http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Storm_Surge_%28TCG%29
Bulbapedia says that Blastoise is Holo. The scan confirms he is Holo, but the list says he is Non-Holo. (Edit?)

RE: Pokemon Promo Cards page

starter decks seem to not be good at all there just there for trainers and stuff

RE: Pokemon Promo Cards page

@ jennrummymeister:
I did not forget about those or the variants from Pokemon ex Battle Stadium.
CG Blastoise - fixed
I forgot all about the Epic Collection cards
RS 8/109 Hariyama - I have never seen that in variant form, either rare or holo.
Bulb-a-whatever I think made an error. The Hariyama in the set is #33, not #8.

RE: Pokemon Promo Cards page

The deck list also calls for a ex Ruby Sapphire Energy Removal 2 80/109 as being part of the set.
I have never seen it.
If anyone else has one please let me know, THANKS!

RE: Pokemon Promo Cards page

^I do have it, but it's the same that WPM has already....however, I'll go through my spare TSS's & take a photo of it later on today.

RE: Pokemon Promo Cards page

@Shakespeare
RS 8/109 Hariyama - I have never seen that in variant form, either rare or holo.
Bulb-a-whatever I think made an error. The Hariyama in the set is #33, not #8.

I double checked the set list of RS. Hariyama is a Holo-Rare #8 as well as an uncommon #33.
http://www.serebii.net/TCG/EX-RS/
Now, bulbapedia uses the Rare symbol in front of Hariyama, but does not claim he is Holo. Either this is actually the uncommon card, should be labeled a Holo, or it is a non-holo variant rare.
Can someone verify with pics or scans whether bulbapedia is correct?

RE: Pokemon Promo Cards page

I listed a scan of RS#33 Hariyama on the promos page.
RS#8 is not in the deck.

RE: Pokemon Promo Cards page

Ah, yes, bulbapedia indeed made an error on the Hariyama for Ex Battle Stadium.

http://www.pokemon-paradijs.com/ruilkaarten/ex-battle-stadium.php

This resource says that he is uncommon, not rare.

RE: Pokemon Promo Cards page

It is indeed nice to be right every now and then!
I will be updating the theme deck section to include the 2 (edit, 3) cards from Feraligatr deck.

RE: Pokemon Promo Cards page

For the record, here are some good notes on alternate cards for the Epic Collection Theme Decks:

Feraligatr ex Deck:
http://www.pokemon-paradijs.com/ruilkaarten/epic-collection-feraligatr-ex-deck.php
Alternate cards include:
(EM) Swampert Non-Holo 11/106
(UF) Feraligatr Non-Holo 4/115
(UF) Slowbro Non-Holo 13/115

Meganium ex Deck:
http://www.pokemon-paradijs.com/ruilkaarten/epic-collection-meganium-ex-deck.php
Alternate cards include:
(EM) Sceptile Non-Holo 10/106....(also in Hydrobloom Theme Deck)
(UF) Meganium Non-Holo 9/115.....(also in Silvery Ocean Theme Deck)

Typhlosion ex Deck:
http://www.pokemon-paradijs.com/ruilkaarten/epic-collection-typhlosion-ex-deck.php
Alternate cards include:
(EM) Blaziken Non-Holo 1/106.....(also in Wildfire Theme Deck)
(EM) Manectric Non-Holo 7/106....(also in Wildfire Theme Deck)
(UF) Typhlosion Non-Holo 17/115....(also in Golden Sky Theme Deck)

In summary, there are 3 alternate cards unique to the Epic Collection Decks, all belonging to the Feraligatr ex Deck, seeing that the other alternate cards can also be found in the normal theme decks. Here is the complete list of the eight non-holo alternate Theme Deck cards from the Emerald (EM) and Unseen Forces (UF) sets.

(EM) Blaziken Non-Holo 1/106.....(Epic Collection Typhlosion ex, Wildfire Theme Deck)
(EM) Manectric Non-Holo 7/106.....(Epic Collection Typhlosion ex, Wildfire Theme Deck)
(EM) Sceptile Non-Holo 10/106....(Epic Collection Meganium ex, Hydrobloom Theme Deck)
(EM) Swampert Non-Holo 11/106....(Epic Collection Feraligatr ex)
(UF) Feraligatr Non-Holo 4/115....(Epic Collection Feraligatr ex)
(UF) Meganium Non-Holo 9/115.....(Epic Collection Meganium ex, Silvery Ocean Theme Deck)
(UF) Slowbro Non-Holo 13/115....(Epic Collection Feraligatr ex)
(UF) Typhlosion Non-Holo 17/115...(Epic Collection Typhlosion ex, Golden Sky Theme Deck)

RE: Pokemon Promo Cards page

I will get these three posted shortly.
(EM) Swampert Non-Holo 11/106
(UF) Feraligatr Non-Holo 4/115
(UF) Slowbro Non-Holo 13/115
I have the cards but have to scan and post them.

OH. I also fixed the Aut 10-11 victory medal scan link.

RE: Pokemon Promo Cards page

Would it be appropriate to also add these cards (maybe at the beginning) to the alternate theme deck card list?
Trainer Deck A (Machamp) Trainer Deck B (Blastoise)
8-machamp-trainer-deck-a-brock.jpg
BlastoiseVariant.jpg

Thunderstorm Gift Box (Zapdos) and the 2 Player CD Rom Starter Set (Machamp)
ZapdosVariant.jpg
8-machamp-2-player-cd-rom-starter-set.jpg

All images are referenced from http://pokebeach.com/tcg/theme-decks

Following the rule of the EX Battle Stadium variants, technically, there are more variants for the Trainer Decks A & B (Brock and Misty) due to the differences in the backs of every card. The Machamp and Blastoise stand out due to the fact they are non-holos. I personally believe they all should count. Any thoughts?

RE: Pokemon Promo Cards page

I was checking the variant card list for Ex Battle Stadium and checked it against the list on this website:
http://www.pokemon-paradijs.com/ruilkaarten/ex-battle-stadium.php

I had a peculiar question concerning the Energy cards listed under the Ruby Sapphire set for the Ex Battle Stadium Variant cards. The Lightning, Grass, Dark, and Metal energies are absent on this source. If they are not from the Ex Battle Stadium, then where are they from? The Lightning, Fire, Water, and Grass energies also have ©2005 instead of ©2004, which is the copyright on all the other Ex Battle Stadium cards.

If I had a guess, these Energy cards belong to other Theme Decks.

RE: Pokemon Promo Cards page

You have a keen eye.
Lightning, Grass, Metal, and Dark energies were not in the set.
The "e-less" cards all got lumped together by me.
After looking through all my energies I have found:
Psychic energies 2003 - 2004 - 2005 don't ask were the 2003 one came from :/
Fire 2004 - 2005
Lightning 2004 - 2005
Water 2004 - 2005
Grass 2004 - 2005
Fighting is the only one 2004 only.

On a side note I also found an Energy Search marked 2005.
The 2005 were in other theme decks, correct.
Dexoys I am guessing.

Another interesting side note is I have NEVER seen the Energy Removal 2 in e-less form.

RE: Pokemon Promo Cards page

Cool, it was a lucky accident I suppose. ©2003 Variant "e-less" Psychic Energy? Can you scan pretty please?
This got me thinking that we should probably check to see if copyright differences occur on other cards as well. To help us out, I looked up the release dates for the Ex Sets.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Pok%C3%A9mon_Trading_Card_Game_sets

Ex Ruby Sapphire - July 2003
Ex Sandstorm - September 2003
Ex Dragon - November 2003

Ex Legend Maker - February 2006
Ex Holon Phantoms - May 2006
Ex Crystal Guardians - August 2006

RE: Pokemon Promo Cards page

I just googled for an image of the Psychic Energy for Ruby Sapphire and I did find a scan of a ©2003 Variant.
http://www.pokemontradingpost.com/images/Ruby/107_Psychic_Energy.jpg
107_Psychic_Energy.jpg

If other ©2003 Variant Energy Cards exist, then it must have come from the booster packs. Otherwise, I would bet that some of the earliest versions of the Ex Master Trainer Gardevoir Decks contained this version of Psychic Energy.
