The objective of this game is to find what link the listed Pokemon

(I get this From ray20 at Serebii)
Example

Manetric
Raichu
Ampharos
Pichu

Answer : All are Lightning Pokemon

So my First Set is

1 - Alakazam , Dragonite , Ludicolo , Garchomp

Dragonite has 9 letters. That can;t be it. I am drawing blanks for ideas of what the link is.

OMG, i am officially awarding myself tool of the day. I can't believe i missed that. Are they used by someone in 1 of the games, i don't think the comparision relates to their names
 
im pretty sure they can all learn one of the same moves just gotta check... edit: their in the same egg group! "chefz crosses fingers"

Are they Stage 2s from (originally) each region?

Alakazam-Kanto
Dragonite-Johto
Ludicolo-Hoenn
Garchomp-Sinnoh

Garchomp= Cynthia
Ludicolo= Wallace
Dragonite= Lance
Alakazam= Rival (Gary or whoever your character's Rival is named)

1. the champion of Hoenn is Steven. (Wallace is the 8th Gym Leader)
2. Steven does not have a Ludicolo.
3. Wallace does not have a Ludicolo.
4. None of the Elite 4 have a Ludicolo.
5. So that can't be the link.

Are they all Stage 2 Evolutions that have dual types?

I am pretty sure alakazam is pure phscic and dragonite pure dragon
