first off, brock is a massive icon in the pokemon anime, as he was there since the beginning, and was pretty much ash's babysitter. he cared for all the pokemon, was a great advice in whupping the opponents, and was especially desperate to get joy/jenny to like him. he got new pokemon last season (d/p/p) and now they are just cutting him off like a NBA player forced to play on the street court 2 blocks from his mommas house for the rest of the season, which has not even started yet. team pokemon and nintendo made a mistake cutting him from the series, as he has been in EVERY pokemon show, including Chronicles, which is not even about ash, or the main story.

Now to give you a reality check, the pokemon anime revolves around Ash. Not his posse of side-characters.

That was a pretty lame thing IMO and a running gag that ran stale after Kanto. Honestly I can't believe you'd actually use that to argue in favour of Brock's character. While there's nothing wrong with liking a character, going overboard (eg. 1 whole thread just to rant about his absence in the current season of pokemon) is uncalled for. Anyone could easily do the same with Misty, they'd just need an excuse to do so (like saying how May or Dawn or whatever aren't suitable replacements. etc)
 
Not really.While we will all miss Brock,the show won't necessarily be bad just because a character has left.Plus,with Ashes battle experience now,he should be fine when fairing against opponents as set by example when he faced off against Corn,whoever the fire trainer is, and Dent.(I mean c'mon!As long as the show has been around, he should have some decent battle skills.)Don't worry,the show will be the same even without Brock,and by the looks of it,looks like its holding up actually.
 
Let's do some math.
According to you: Brock=the basis of the show.
According to me: Brock=needs to leave.
Therefore:the show=needs to leave

That is all.
 
brock was my least favorite...he was to...calm all the time. i like the look of dento (oh sorry cilan :p) he seems like he has energy and will be exciting....iris on the other hand...well i guess she is swinging on vines when she meets ash and has a kibago (woops again axew :p) in her hair...this could be interesting

The show is not going to fail without Brock. It'd be cool if it did though cause then Brock would be back. Hooray!! But yeah, oh well. If Misty fans can survive life without Misty then I'm sure us Brock fans will also find a way. :(
 
Closing this thread due to the lack of discussion value. It could only go downhill from here, to be honest.
