Ruling Pokemon and Pokemon G

I was curious if Pokemon G count as having the same name as a normal Pokemon. For instance, could I have four normal Dialga, and four Dialga Gs?

It is like saying that any text after the Pokemon's name (excluding Lv.'s and "star") means that the Pokemon is a totally different Pokemon. As in they count as different Pokemon.

The ones that change the name are like ex, SP (they should have a name change) and anything like that.

Star Pokemon were counted as a different Pokemon, so in a tournament you could have four Mew, four Mew ex, and one Mew*. I actually saw a deck like this at last year's State Championships.

Just to add on to this: SP itself doesn't change the name. Its the letter behind the Pokémon that does it. Right now, for instance, there is Bronzong "G", right? In our next set, there will be a Bronzong "4" - you guessed it, the Elite 4 Bronzong. You could theoratically have 4 Bronzong, 4 Bronzong G and 4 Bronzong 4.

Oh how I love to taunt. They really should make an errata on this to clear up these questions, hmm Lou Cypher?

Anyway, they're names are different on the card, meaning you can have 4 of each.

dmaster out.
