XY Pokémon That Don't Learn Attacks That Fit Them - Why Should They Learn Them?

I'm still baffled on why Kyurem can't learn Icicle Crash.

It's an Ice Type with a physical Attack stat on par with Mamoswine.

If Swinub can do it, why not an ICE LEGENDARY? Icicle Crash can be very useful against Rayquaza, Lugia and Groudon (When not in sunlight) if you don't fancy the two-turn Freeze Shock, since the foe could very likely switch out the Pokémon you intend to KO with the two-turn move if you're running a Power Herb set.

It should have also gained Superpower and Earthquake in B2/W2 to give Black Kyurem considerable coverage for Uber.

Why cant Tyrantrum learn Flamethrower and Fire Blast When GOLEM can? GOLEM of all pokemon!! Clearly theres something wrong when an honest-to-goodness Dragon cant learn Flamethrower when a living boulder can.

Exeggcute with softboiled- no.

Greninja with bounce( assuming you keep it on him til after level 36) Why would a ninja, who is very quick, need a less-than-quick two turn move??

Amaura and Aurorus with Glaciate(yes. I said it.) if an ice legendaty can do it, why not pokemon that can Freeze-Dry opponents and then do the other thing(just plain freeze em?)

Dragalge not being able to learn Surf was already mentioned, but Barbaracle not not being able to learn Waterfall... what is this, some cruel joke? You cannot have a single Gen VI pokemon with both Surf and Waterfall STAB unless it's your starter? That's downright torture. :/

It already has a poor movepool considering its Ability Crush Claw only has effect on 2 of his stab moves: Clamp with a poor 35 Power and Razor Shell with a below avarage 75 power, it learns no Rock moves that make contact and it not getting Waterfall is just the icing on the trashcake. What's with this generation and the movepools that seem to make no sense?

Sorry Barbaracle, I loved you but you've been useless apart from learning 'Surf' to cross a river once or twice. I'm at the final Gym and I have no idea what to do with him. He knows Razor Shell, Stone Edge and Clamp and this is the first time in my LIFE that I have no idea what to give a Pokemon for a 4th move. Well apart from 'Return', but everything can learn Return so that just feels kinda boring to me. I'm the guy who thinks HM's should become the 5th move for Pokemon just so you don't have to sacrifice a free space for one, so you can imagine my confusion right now. D:

I have more examples, but I'm incapable of remembering any more right now, this is just one that ticked me off the most in this playtrough so far. >:
Dude, when i had a barbaracle, this was not my problem. my problem was choosing JUST four moves for it. my moveset was Surf,Razor Shell,X-Scissor and Brick Break.

It can learn Fire Fang which does make up for it, but I can see your point, especially considering when other dinosaur/dragon Pokemon can learn them.

Exeggcute has never been able to learn Soft-Boiled...

You have to take in account that it is a frog. An agile frog. It's not the amount of time the move takes, its the basic jumping action which is perfectly fitting for a frog.

Amaura and Aurorus with Glaciate(yes. I said it.) if an ice legendaty can do it, why not pokemon that can Freeze-Dry opponents and then do the other thing(just plain freeze em?)
I can see your point, but do keep in mind that it is a legendary signature move, which they rarely put on other Pokemon (one of the few exceptions I can think of is Entei getting Sacred Fire) (obviously discounting event only things like Victini/Arceus, when they get the moves due to being the stars in a movie, and its only through an event and is only available through that), although Glaciate has no strong connection with Kyurem in particular and wouldn't feel out of place on any other Ice type at all (as opposed to seeing, say a Flygon that knows Spacial Rend or something). (and Glaciate is only there so B/W Kyurem can get awesome strong moves as opposed to some low base power Ice move)

replies in bold

One thing I've thought of, is Ampharos not getting Dazzling Gleam. Considering Dazzling Gleams whole thing is that its a bright shining light, and Ampharos is the 'Light' Pokemon it seems more than fitting. (and it's not because its Mega has a type opposite to it, since otherwise Gengar, Sableye, Altaria and Roserade shouldn't get it either) Heck, Lanturn gets it and they have the same classification. (and its not like Ampharos' movepool has been ignored)

Why shouldn't Ditto learn Sludge Bomb? I mean he's perfectly capable of it. Just look at him!

Just because its body looks sludgy/jelly-like, it doesn't mean it actually is.
Whilst the Pokedex entries don't mention, my best guess is that its body is just a bunch of unspecialised cells that have the ability to change at will, but in its regular form it doesn't make an actual shape and therefore looks like a blob.

Dittos whole schtick is that it has to transform in order to be able to do anything, giving it an attack would totally take that away.

Good point, but looking at your Goomby, I realized... Does Goomby know Sludge Bomb?
And I always thought Ditto was based off clay or something.

Delphox should be able to learn any move with 'Magic' in the title. Because she's a wizard, Harry (and a hairy wizard). Her hidden ability is even called Magician. Magic Coat, Magic Room, and Dazzling Gleam ('Magical Shine' in Japanese), and other moves that seem like something a magician would do. My personal list ... Mist, Teleport, Mirror Move ('It's all done with mirrors!'), Charm, Encore, Mirror Coat, Trick/Switcheroo, Role Play, Astonish, Cosmic Power (itty-bitty living space), Gravity, Healing Wish, Wish, Defog, Wonder Room, Trick Room, Telekinesis, Geomancy.

Obviously, not all of these can fit into a moveset, and I admit that I like Delphox and really wish it had a better movepool. But either way, all these moves feel kind of like spells to me, and I really hope Phoxy picks some up in the next Gen.

I know it's been said before, but Goodra should learn Surf, as the slug it's based on just floats around on the sea, meaning it's very buoyant, or it can crawl on the surface of water.
Plus if Rhypirior can learn Surf, why not a sea slug?

This may sound stupid but I always wanted Espeon to learn Power Gem because of the Ruby on her forehead that would be so cute. Also something that always bothered me why can't Gyarados learn Outrage? I would think the atrocious sea-dragon pokemon known for uncontrollable rampaging could learn it.

Gyara can learn Outrage, but only through move tutor.
(meaning to have a legit one in x/y you have to transfer it)

I could see Bullet Seed fitting Kingdra, since it is based on a sharp-shooting leafy sea dragon. Sludge Bomb might fit it too, given it already has ink/smoke-related moves in Smokescreen, Octazooka, and Clear Smog.

I think The Forces of Nature trio should learn all of the tail based attacks, as they have huge tails and it's odd seeing them never use them in their Therian Forms.

Why can't Gallade learn Iron head?
He has a glatiator's helmet. If its not strong as steel then what good is it for ?
Also about Gyarados, forget Outrage , this fish should know Crunch.
