General Pokémon Contests Discussion

I feel that sinnoh by far had the best contests by that point the writers seemed to have a clearer idea what to do with them they felt far more unique and less like a ordinary Pokémon battle dawn had a brilliant arc even Jessie had some moments to shine even incorporating ash into it more with out him taking over her arc one of the only real flaws were some of the rivals

I feel the contests didn't really add anything to the story at all, they kind of just intruded on the anime. They're useless and to me, kind of annoying. The only satisfying part is when the battles gets tense with the rivals, rivals make contests good.
