PokéBeach.com Dream It & Design It!: Water-type Contest

Hello members & fans! Welcome to PokéBeach's Dream It & Design It! contest. We will be doing these every so often from here on out, and PokeBeach's Facebook fans will know about them first! :) Haven't liked our page yet? Here it is.

What is the Dream It & Design It Contest?

This is a contest to create new Pokemon like you were a designer at Game Freak. You must consider mythology, culture, and use any other interesting forms of inspiration to come up with your own dream Pokemon character for the current theme. This time, the theme is the Water-type! There was a recent poll on PokeBeach's Facebook page to vote for types, and this is what won.

Is there a prize for winning?

Yes! There will be a first, second, and third place prize.

1st Place Winner will receive a PokeBeach Grand Prize Pack including: 4 Next Destinies booster packs, Pokemon TCG or gaming accessories (your choice), and a surprise from the staff and WPM!

2nd Place Winner will receive a PokeBeach Prize Pack including 2 Next Destinies booster packs, TCG or gaming accessories (your choice), and a surprise!

3rd Place Winner will receive a PokeBeach Prize Bag, including 2 Next Destinies booster packs and a surprise!

HOW DO I ENTER?!

The submission to enter this contest will be for a Water-type Pokemon. Develop and draw out your Pokemon idea. You can ask for opinions or help on your work in the Fake Creations forum if needed. The FINAL submission is the one you will post on PokeBeach's Facebook page, and that can be anytime between now and midnight PST on March 31st!

How will this be judged?

Facebook likes on your entry that is posted to our Facebook wall will equal 1 point. Whichever three entries have the most likes at the end of the contest will win. Mod, Super Mod, and Admin likes are worth 2 points. Likes for yourself do not count. Any deceptive or cheating methods will result in disqualification. You may advertise that your photo is on PokeBeach's wall, but do so in a responsible and non-intrusive way. Banned members and Staff members are not eligible to win.

Right, so how do I submit again?

Post your FINAL submission on our Facebook wall including:

- Final art of your created Water-type Pokemon - Computer generated or drawn by hand. Color is optional but recommended!
- PokeDex entry - can be as complex as you decide
- A few sentences to a paragraph about the development process. What inspired you to make this Pokemon? How does it fit into the Pokemon universe? Be creative!

Only post to PokeBeach's Facebook wall when you are absolutely ready. The one post you make including your artwork will count toward the contest. No edits or redoing! What is posted on PokeBeach's Facebook wall is final for the contest. Any work leading up to your final design submission that you want to share with others/ask for help on must be posted elsewhere or Fake Creations!

Have fun! :)

In it for the accessories :3

Oh, and are we graded on how good the drawings are?

These aren't being "graded" per se. We will be voting for them on the Facebook page. We can vote for them for whatever reason we feel.

Just saying, what about the people who don't have Facebook's?

The contest is judged by Facebook likes, so if you don't post it there it doesn't count.

Would I be allowed to post the pic for him?

It would be preferred that the person who does the artwork post the image to the page, since we will contact that person about any prizes if the artwork wins. You can do that, but make sure you are both understanding of what happens if a prize is won for the artwork. (Where to send the prize, if you'll split it, etc.)

Can the entry be an evolution line, or must it be a single Pokemon?

You can include an evolution line, but try to focus more on one of the Pokemon. Pick one and make it the star of your submission.

Does it have to be designed specifically for this contest or could I use my best water fakemon I've made till now? xD

And if it has to be new, can it still be part of a personal generation-size project? Like, some of the hundreds I still have ahead will be water, and then Id make one of them now instead of what I was going to do next? :B

It doesn't have to be made specifically for this contest, but it should be newer work. Think "never before seen".

I'd really like to do this, but I dont have anything to make it with... Does sketching on pencil/paper work, and add color? As long as I add it to FB?

Nigel's posting it right now! Vote for me!

Entering for the surprise. This really uh...pushed my creativity a bit! :3

As stated before, you do need a Facebook account. The contest is based on Facebook likes.
