TCG Fakes Photobucket Watermarks on Old Cards

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but I'm browsing through some old cards, many of which are fantastic, and so many of them have that rotten photobucket watermark on them. Is this intended or just something photobucket has added on over time? I would love to be able to use some of those cards for my kitchen table games but the watermark makes them unusable.

Years and years ago, Photobucket used to be the premier image hosting site, but eventually they added the watermark, which basically ruined their usefulness. imgur recently did the same thing, except instead of watermarking all the images, they just flat out disallowed outside direct image linking to any content hosted there, so now they're just as worthless to the community.

Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do short of contacting the person who made the cards and hoping they've still got the image files and that they'll share them with you.

Honestly, it seems like the way to go to future proof would be to have pokebeach host uploaded files on the site itself. This brings up issues of storage and bandwidth, and would cost more; but it's the only "forever" solution.
