This is a free dungeon crawler made by Grinding Gear Games. The game is completely item based and there is no auction house, requiring you to trade with other players for items you need.
You play as a criminal, who is exiled by the state to the unforgiving continent of Wraeclast, on your journey, you help the locals while getting one step closer to defeating Dominus and his blackguard army, discovering the true reason why the continent of Wraeclast is how it is.
Depending on who you chose, you level up certain skill gems which are essentially your basic abilities. You insert these gems into the sockets of weapons and armor, which adds two new and different approaches to gear selection. There are also support gems, which allow you to buff your skill gems to give them unique effects, range, damage, and even modify the resource that they use.
The skill tree is MASSIVE, which allows for more in depth playstyles and builds. The game is focused around three different aspects. Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence.
-Strength grants additional heath and percent increased melee damage
-Dexterity grants evasion chance and accuracy
-Intelligence grants additional mana and and energy shield
The more you stack a property, the more of the bonuses it gives you. I highly recommend getting a bit of the other properties to balance out your character's skill and weapon pool.

You can journey together alongside 5 friends for a total of 6 total in a party, where the more people you have gives better lot but harder enemies to fight.
And finally, there are different GAMEMODES! (Called leagues)
"Leagues can substantially modify the game rules. In a Cut-Throat league, you're able to invade other players' instances and kill them to take their items. In Turbo leagues, monsters move and attack 60% faster than normal."
