One more chance?

I guess this is advertising, but I'll take my chances. I've noticed a few new members posting ideas similar to my Battle Frontier system. As most of us know, Battle Frontier is a network of threads with the same principle, the use of our user stats. But the new members who have had the same idea, tend to ignore mine, posting their own. I get offended by this, it's like plagiarism, and putting a "Battle Frontier -" tag on each of our threads is getting old. People ignore them because of that. So I was thinking, there are some unnecessary and inactive sub-forums like the ones in the Gaming Discussion Forum, 3 of them don't even have 10 threads at least, then why not make a Battle Frontier sub-forum? It has more than 10 threads, and maybe this can lift our restrictions in the game corner since some people consider the BF threads as spam. Now maybe you can give my idea one more chance WPM? It just hurts to trash 10 months of development.

I will be posting things that is what you should expect from WPM/any other mods.

Firstly, you cannot 'copyright' an idea. True, it is a refreshing, out of the blue idea, but nevertheless, you cannot stop people from copying it. We all can acknowledge that you created and developed the idea, but does that give you the right from copying you? Can Team Twilight say that no other clans can have 'Team' in their names? This plagiarism cannot be compared to that of artworks', since artworks are hand-made by the artist.

Compare that to your idea: N00bs are merely adapting your idea and shaping it into something else. There is an exception, however. If they do totally copy you (ie Similar names, similar catch phrase, etc), then that is plagiarism. IMO there is really nothing you can do but prove that the original is still the best.

Finally, I doubt you can expect WPM to create a new forum based on something several members made. You could prove to WPM that he can make a new forums that will be successful. I suggest you popularize BF and attract more people to join. Only when it has become a true success will WPM make the forum for you.

Wait... I'm typing the word "WPM"(I'm typing without tags).

Well although I don't play it, plagiarism is sure indeed annoying, especially for a work that takes 10 months of work. Please do something about that. Please. I'm begging you.

Begging WPM? To do what? :p

As I have said, the only way WPM would ever make a new forums for the BF is when he has enough trust in BF that it would be successful. Maybe 10 months is enough for him to be moved, but IDK about that. You really need more people like PPM/Lth to support the BF.

Absol got the facts right. =] Unless you really copyrighted it (which I doubt you'll do), they are allowed to copy the "Battle Frontier -" stuff. However, artwork and guides are made by an individual and if that artwork or guide is not made, another person wouldn't be able to write the same thing. Therefore, those stuff can be said to be "copyrighted" in a minor way.

Not really. They cannot use the name 'Battle Frontier', since it coincides with the original one. However, if they make another BF-like game without using BF as its name, you guys have nothing you can say about it.

Well... No one can copy the concept if it has official recognition.

*Sigh* I guess I should just I should try to be content with a stickied thread!:p I give up. Sorry WPM.(Without tags too.)
