Ruling Old Trainers and Supporters

Hey everyone, I am fairly new to the tcg and had a question. My local gamer group just started at the same time so we play casual unlimited format from what I gathered. One particular player has collected cards since she was young so some are from almost the beginning of the game. She has cards, especially draw cards, that would be considered "Supporter" by todays game standards (Ex. Trainer Card Professor Oak is just like the new Supporter Professor Juniper).

So the main question is this: In an unlimited game if these old cards do not say "Supporter" you can play as many as you want?

Thanks for any answers or directions to them

RE: Quick answer or direction

If the card name is the same as one that is a Supporter, such as Bill, it would have to be played as a Supporter. Professor Oak would just be considered a trainer because it was not reprinted in a later set as a Supporter.~KA
