Ruling O Barrier and Target Whistle

Hello again Professors,

If I use Target Whistle on a basic Pokemon with the O Barrier Ancient Trait, will the Pokemon go on my opponent's Bench, or will O Barrier block that effect? I'm not entirely sure on this answer. Abilities aren't active while the Pokemon is in the discard, unless stated otherwise. So does that mean Ancient Traits are active while in the discard?

Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks!

According to [PokePop, Omega Barrier is active only while the Pokemon is actually in play. Like Abilities, Ancient Traits have no effect when the card isn't in play, unless specifically stated otherwise. So, if you played Target Whistle and picked a Pokemon with Omega Barrier, it would be revived.
