TCG Fakes Neo Destiny Revival (revamped)

Hi! As some of you may know, I have started to work on a Neo Destiny set around 2 years ago, inspired by some fantastic fakers such as ILKCMP and icycatelf on DA. The main reason that I went to faking was that I am a hard-core vintage collector (Base to HGSS) and after completing my collection, I felt empty and a need to make some cards in vintage style for my own personal collection. However, when I just got into faking, my photoshop skills were let's say, not so good, and the cards (especially holo ones) did not quite meet my expectations. Around a year ago, I started to revamp the whole project and to this date, around 120 cards were finished, hopefully with better aesthetics and wording. You can see the link to all of the finished cards here:

I won't post the first 100 cards as it's a lot but here are a few cards just to show what's going on:

This set also includes beta Pokemon and improves the baby mechanic. Baby Pokemon may have better attacks and Pokemon that may evolve from Baby Pokemon are considered semi-evolved (Light/Dark). They also have attacks that may benefit from playing Baby Pokemon. Examples include:

I might also include fakemons from fellow DAs in the future. But for now, making cards from existing mons is already a big task for me. I will gradually upload cards after 100 in this thread. I hope you like them![/SPOILER]

Swamp Party Gimmick

Night March and Mad Party were some of the best archetypes that made single-prize cards playable, with the former dominating the format when it existed in standard (and for a long time in expanded). I think NM was the main reason why Seismitoad/Giratina and energy denial became good during that time. Therefore, in honour to those small mons that could hit hard, I tried introducing this gimmick into my Neo Destiny set, with the main stars being Pokemon that live in swamps. Here goes:

The Mareep line. Light Flaaffy can do okay damage and Bench snipe while Light Ampharos punishes Dark Pokemon.

Snorlax line. Munchlax could be a pretty good draw engine. Dark Snorlax could hit hard while Light Snorlax has a massive HP and can be used for stall.

My Neo Destiny set also features the new Legendary Pokemon mechanic. If your not familiar with it, it is similar to Shining Pokemon (you can only have 1 Legendary Pokemon in your deck). Legendary Pokemon have powerful attacks and powers, some even work when affected by a Special condition. They also have unique weaknesses and resistances, as well as reduced retreat costs, here are 2 examples:

Alolan Teddiursa, It's always a pleasure to see your cards. You have a good eye for art and have acquired permissions from artists normally overlooked by the Pokémon Trading Card Game Fakers Community. Not only do the cards above match with their art very well, however, but they also have interesting effects. That Lugia is an especially beautiful card and puts me in mind of the reverse holofoil Entei promo, the gold bordered Meowth Jungle promotional reprint, and the Aerodactyl V alternate art all at once. All the aesthetics seem to tie together very well, the feather matching both the border and the sea in the illustration, Lugia corresponding to the sea and the template, the border framing the entire piece... everything is pulled together beautifully. Thanks for making these cards.

Hi there, Charmaster! Thanks a lot for your encouragement and kind words. I understand that the era that I work on is a less popular one as it's just really really old and not well refined (fonts, alignments all over the place, not standardized) so it's really nice to have someone appreciate it.

It's my pleasure to make these cards. Recently just trying to master holofoil effects, those are pretty hard sometimes!

I like the way Dark Lucario’s Iron Fist is balanced with Neo Genesis’s Metal Energy’s side effect (working with non/
-Metal Pokémon but reducing their own damage output by 10 as well) in mind. Lost Sphere also feels like it’s been balanced very tactfully, though it certainly limits what sorts of effects can be used for pitching Pokémon into the Lost Zone without breaking its attack. (Trainers and Pokémon Powers, for instance, are probably out without instituting some sort of hard damage ceiling on Lost Sphere.)
Also, sure, you can switch your Cleffa into Light Lucario’s Lost Sphere. After all, there’s only a 50% chance I’ll get to take a prize in the middle of your turn. Tails? Well, that was certainly unfortunate. Good game. (Seems like a meta-sensitive design principle that offers skillful Risk versus Award analysis in a format full of 30 HP Pokémon.)

I am glad you like them! To be honest, I certainly would not like to play in the older era as everything is based on coin flips, which is very inconsistent and luck based. In addition, I think that interesting effects often lead to broken combos due to the large card pool so I understand why the attacks nowadays are simpler. I had my Neo Destiny set tested in a recent tournament in HongKong (energy removal trainer banned) and it turns out though not many cards were broken, many of these effects led to very very long games as many Basics I designed had protective effects. The stage 1 and stage 2s that I designed didn't have powerful attacks to OHKO and were a bit of mix between offensive and control.
Finally, though players certainly did not enjoy the prelonged games, the cards were definitely very sought after vintage collectors and many had whole sets of the cards printed out in custom card factories.

Aww, Lapring is absolutely precious! Lapras is one of my favorite Pokémon! (Guess which one the other is.) Also, Echoing Song is a very interesting effect that makes me want to build a deck around this line.
By the way, these cards reminded me of the time you asked if you could make a Lapras based on a text fake I’d made on my old thread, back when I was still exploring the Pokémon TCG Fakers Community, before I had even entered a CaC. I think your first CaC entry might have been made at about the time I started watching CaCs, perhaps in the entry right before I made my account.
As usual, these cards are very encouraging. Please keep up the good work. :)

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. That was around two years ago, when I just got into faking!

Actually Dark Lapras is going to pair great with the 'Baby Killer' Light Feraligatr in my Neo Destiny set. I haven't uploaded that card yet but I will soon.

Again, thanks for the kind words!

Always like items being used in cards they always seemed neat to me. Mainy cause the item images are more intresting than generic ability/pokepower/pokebody icon because it changes depending on item. Also like tjat the items all are berries.
