Mega Blastoise/Victini EX/ Garbodor

This is another deck idea I thought of at the top of my head. It attempts to make something playable out of the Mega Mechanic. I actually think Blastoise is the more playable of the two because of how good Night Spear has proven to be. This is basically an upgraded version of that

Experience: Intermediate

Pokemon
  • 3 Victini EX (Acceleration + Genesect counter)
  • 3 Blastoise EX (To Evolve)
  • 2 Mega Blastoise EX (Main Attacker)
  • 3-2 Garbodor (shut off Mr Mime)
  • 1 Suicune (Non EX wall)

Trainers
  • 4 Professor Juniper (Draw)
  • 4 N (Draw)
  • 4 Shauna (Draw)
  • 4 Skyla (Search out ace spec)
  • 1 Bicycle (Additional Draw)
  • 3 Ultra Ball (Search)
  • 1 Level Ball (Search)
  • 1 Heavy Ball (Search)
  • 3 Muscle Band (Boost Attack and Tool for Garbodor)
  • 2 Float Stone (Ease Retreating also a tool)
  • 1 Victory Piece (For Victini)
  • 1 Super Rod (Recovery)
  • 2 Escape Rope (Tactical)
  • 3 Switch (Tactical)
  • 1 Tool Scrapper

Energy
  • 7 Water
  • 4 Rainbow (to power up both Victini and Blastoise)

Strategy

Use Victini EX to power up Blastoise EX before Mega Evolving (that's where Suicune can come in Handy, to wall during the turn you lose Mega Evolving). That's where Garbodor comes in. It shuts off all other abilities, most importantly, it shuts off Mr Mime's bench barrier, allowing MBEX to set up several KOs (Similar to how Darkrai did). If MBEX goes down before taking all six prizes, it should have softened up the bench enough for regular old Blastoise EX to finish them off.

Of course, this is all theory since I haven't tested it (I really should get a playtcg account), but I could see it being pretty fun to play.

First off, If I'm not mistaking, MBEX has to be in the active position to evolve, so you can't have any Pokemon walling for it when you lose that turn... Plus side, if MBEX is set during early game play there are only a few Pokemon that will be able to take it out before making serious damage...

From just looking it over:
-4 N
+4 PONT
-1 Super Rod
+1 Flower Shop Lady
-1 Bicycle (I think there are better cards for this)
+1 Suicune (you may not have enough basics)
Add Pokemon Communication taking out the search card you least preffer, this would be for searching Holon's Castform (recommended) as well as any other pokemon...

And for rainbow energy I highly recommend using Holon's Castform, it can be searched in deck and discard pile as a pokemon and used as double rainbow energy, with no other set back than the fact that the pokemon it will be attached to has to already have at least one energy and when attached said energy returns to your hand... Although, you could always just put down the one returned to you next turn or change it from pokemon...

Hope this helps :)...

The deck has to be NXD on...PONT and FSL are out of format.

Yeah, it's NXD on.

As for the 4 N, I think this is the perfect deck for it because chances are, you will be behind on prizes before you really get going.

Regarding N, have in mind it slso refreshes your opponents hand, that could either cause disruption or backfire, but I guess employing it or not depends on your deck strategy, as you've explained...
And my bad, didn't notice it was NXD-on, I guess this is all that applies then...

(If in doubt you could ask a Professor within the Forum) If I'm not mistaking, MBEX has to be in the active position to evolve, so you can't have any Pokemon walling for it when you lose that turn... 10 basics is plenty.

I think you're confusing the mega evolutions with the level X mechanic from Diamond and Pearl. At least I hope so because otherwise, mega evolutions have gone from somewhat intriguing to nearly completely unplayable.

I tried this on playtcg.

Really really clunky deck. I'm lucky to get M Blastoise out half the time. Blastoise EX isn't half bad (rapid spin annoyed a few opponents), but if I were to play this, I'd probably just use deluge Blastoise for acceleration.

Yeah. Its a bit sad how clunky mega decks have to be. It goes on to wanting normal blastoise, then to realizing that mega blastoise is kinda bad, and Keldeo ex and BKEX is better, then Realizing that normal blastoise with Keldeo and BKEX is way way way better.

could be me, but I think dusknoir is better for mega blastoise (abuse the use the spread dmg to get ko's next turn by moving dmg counters around) and garbo for mega venasuar (ability lock and lock the active so basically you can't do to much of anything to defend yourself with). Just food for thought.

Also, Shawna isn't as good as I thought it would be. In most circumstances, N or Juniper are the better bets.

^ This I very much so disagree with. With Shauna you have a choice and better synergy with your supporter cards overall, there are times when your forced to play an N and your opponent has a terrible hand, you N them into a good hand at that point you could have played Shauna kept them at the point of having a terrible hand. That's one of the biggest reasons, I have few others but I can't seem to recall.
