Hey Beach Bums!

It's that time again ... quarter close! That probably got a chuckle out of those of you who are in financials and like me just got done making quarter end entries. Nothing better than making journal entries at ten PM on a Friday night.... But enough of that fun, it's time for my data analysis again.

In March I played only 347 matches, and I went 191 and 156 in those matches for a 55% win percentage. My best decks performance:

Lapras Greninja 11_4_73%
Decidueye Vileplume 41_19_68%
Tauros Hammers 40_20_66%

I had another month where I played A LOT of decks, 34 in total. I definitely feel like it's limiting - you really can't learn a deck unless you play it a lot; however, I find myself getting bored playing the same thing, and I've been trying out a lot of different (and frequently unsuccessful) decks as well.

One quick note as well: while Greninja might not be as "dead" as I thought he would be, I didn't face any Grass decks in the 15 matches I played with Greninja this month, and I'm sure that if I had faced a couple of Grass decks, my win percentage with Greninja would have been a lot less.

In my 347 matches, when I had the advantage, I won 68% of the time. I only won 40% of the time when my opponent had the advantage, and when neither of us had an advantage, I won 55% of the time. This is very close to last month (68% / 44% / 54%).

I had the advantage in 35% of the matches I played, my opponent also had the advantage in 35% of the matches, and neither of us had the advantage in the other 30%. Last month, I had the advantage 36% of the time, my opponent only had it 30% of the time, and neither of us had it 34%.

In March, my opponent played a deck with no abilities (other than Hoopa, Shaymin, and Talonflame) only 25% of the time. In those matches, I went 51 and 34 for a 60% winning percentage. When my opponent played a deck with Pokemon with abilities, I only won 53% of the time. These numbers are very consistent with February.

In March, I only won 52% of the matches I played when my opponent played hammers (or Flare or Skull Grunt). I won 56% of matches in which they did not play those disruption cards. My opponents only played hammers in 20% of the matches I played. These numbers are almost identical to February except that there was a 3 point increase in the frequency (I only saw hammers in 17% of the decks I faced in February).

In March, I won 56% of the matches in which my opponent didn't play special energy; I won 54% of the matches when he did. My opponent played SPE 56% of the time. This is a little different from February in which I won 60% of the matches where my opponent didn't pay SPE and 53% when he did. The amount of decks playing SPE in February was 55%.
