RE: LV's Fake Cards (#001-#649) (Now with May's Bulbasaur)

Nice Bulbasaur :) But you are off the fonts. I suggest you get them from the Fake Card resources. :)

RE: LV's Fake Cards (#001-#649) (Now with May's Bulbasaur)

^I am using the right fonts....which is Gill-Sans.

RE: LV's Fake Cards (#001-#649) (Now with the VGC Milotic)

You are using the right fonts on the wrong settings. Look: http://pokebeach.com/scans/heartgold-and-soulsilver/25-ledian.jpg

The Weakness, Resistance, Retreat, HP, Attack Name, Pokemon Name, Pokemon Data, and damage are too greatly bolded. If I recall correctly, some of these fonts aren't Gill Sans (there are some fonts in Futura). The attack description is also off too. Lastly, the Pokedex entry should be Sanvito Pro.

RE: LV's Fake Cards (#001-#649) (Now with the VGC Milotic)

Nice cards, but dull background on Bulbasaur...

Try Paint Daubs effect for a Sugimori-style background.

RE: LV's Fake Cards (#001-#649) (Now with the VGC Milotic)

^Thanx.
Here's a new card from me & it's my 1st jumbo:
RSE.png

RE: LV's Fake Cards (#001-#649) (Now with the VGC Milotic)

Awesome Milotic but still as Gliscor said you are using the Gil Sans fonts on the wrong settings ... and it's Entei not Entai

RE: LV's Fake Cards (#001-#649) (Now with the VGC Milotic)

^I know that I've mispelt Entei.
As for the size I'm doing it on 23-25, as I'm using Gimp.
Anyways, how is this Pokabu going?
Pokabu.png

RE: LV's Fake Cards (#001-#649) (Now with the VGC Milotic)

I'm unsure if you can do some of these settings for Gimp, but this is what I use for Photoshop:

Name= Gill Sans Std Bold, size 28.04, horizontal scale 88%
HP= Gill Sans MT Bold (bold this), size 12.02, horizontal scale 68%
HP number= Futura Std Heavy, size 24.04, horizontal scale 100%
Attack, Poke Power, Poke Body description= Gill Sans Std, size 11-15, leading is the size+1 (for example, if you are using size 15, your leading is 16), horizontal scale 105%
Poke Power/Poke Body= Gill Sans Condensed Bold, size 25.04, horizontal scale 92%
Attack name= Gill Sans Std Bold Condensed, size 25.04, horizontal scale 91%
Evolves From= FrutigerCE Italic (bold this), size 8, horizontal scale 100%
Flavor Text= Sanvito Pro Bold (italicize this), size 10.5, leading 11.5, horizontal scale 101%
Name of Illustrator= Futura Std Medium, size 9.01, leading 15.02, horizontal scale 102%

Again, I'm not sure if Gimp can do stuff like leading and horizontal scale, but I'm sure Gimp can do size and have bold and italic options.

EDIT: By the way, don't put "Pokemon" for the Pokemon's Stage. There is a download that gives you what you need to put for the Pokemon stage in the Fake Card Resource thread.

RE: LV's Fake Cards (#001-#649) (Now with the VGC Milotic)

^No, I ask the person/artisit on dA if I can use their art (I wish that I could use PurpleKecleon's....but they said no already for me to use their art (but I can already use Xous's I just have to let him know what one/s that I'm going to be using)).

RE: LV's Fake Cards (#001-#649) (Now with the VGC Milotic)

After following Glisor's advice, I made a new card...it's Kibago.
Kibago.png

I hope that people will like this one better.
I borrowed it's PokéDex data from Glisor's one~I hope that you didn't mind me doing it.

RE: LV's Fake Cards (#001-#649) (Now with a Kibago)

What would be the point of using Mini-Dragon Rage instead of Tusk Swipe...? The ONLY difference is the coin flip :p
And that Entei, Suicune & Raikou is really overpowered... POKÉMON COLLECTOR FTW :D
but seriously. Getting 6 basics out and 3 energy on one pokémon gives you 3, probably 4 prizes? Wow.

RE: LV's Fake Cards (#001-#649) (Now with a Kibago)

^I was going to give it Dragon Rage (the full 40 damage one), but I throught of Iris' one (who's just learning how to use Dragon Rage).
As for the Beasts, I made it like Articuno, Moltres & Zapdos jumbo promo.

RE: LV's Fake Cards (#001-#649) (Now with a Kibago)

But still... why is the other attack there then? No one would ever use Dragon Rage...

RE: LV's Fake Cards (#001-#649) (Now with a Kibago)

Here's a new one from me (also sorry about the Japanese flavor text, as it was the only one I could find)...it's Zeburaika!

Edit: The Poké Dex data reads this (translated by LostVoice)

Japanese: きしょうが はげしく おこると たてがみから しほうはっぽうに でんげきを うちまくるので きけん。

English: It has a violent temper when it becomes angry and will fire random electrical shocks from its mane so take care.

Edit 2: Here's another one.
Pururiru.png

RE: LV's Fake Cards (#001-#649) (Now with a Zeburaika & Pururiru cards)

While I am happy that people are actually using the Project BW symbols, those aren't the right symbols for HGSS cards. HOS made a symbol sheet here for non-Photoshop users, since it is a PNG file. It comes with the HGSS symbols and the Pokemon Stage, which is at the top.

RE: LV's Fake Cards (#001-#649) (Now with: Rapidash)

New card has been done!
Rapidash.png

RE: LV's Fake Cards (#001-#649) (Now with: Rapidash)

Yep, you are improving. The symbols are wrong however. Since that's a HGSS fake, HGSS symbols should be used. Also, why does the W/R/RC bar seem to be a bit ... off color?

Lovely to say, the flavor text seem to be in order.
Are you using Gill Sans set for the Attacks and Descriptions?
Also another major issue is that the artwork is of a Shiny Rapidash while the card resembles an ordinary Rapidash.
They have different kind of blanks for Shiny Pokemon in the HGSS blanks. However they are not available by blanks
however, so you may have to edit/splice to blanks to get the appropriate effect.
