Pokemon Just crawled out of a dark hole

hello everyone!
As far as playing pokemon games and the card games, ive played them all my life. but ive lived in a dark hole as far as the fact that the only other person i interacted with in pokemon is my brother. Is there anyone willing to bring me up to speed as far as competition in either the video game or trading card game world? thanks.
 
Well, there's the 5th Generation that continues to leak out new Pokemon.

I do suggest you go through Pokebeach.com's archives to get back up to speed. A lot has been going on and they have kept tabs on all of it.
