News Japan's SM3+ Set: 'Shining Legends!'

Outrage is back on Zekrom I see. That's a nice throwback to the good ol' BW era. (EDIT-Just realized the Reshi from this set had Outrage as well. Thats really nice.)

Also, both of those artworks for Mewtwo are unbelievable. I'm really impressed.

Crocanaw sounds fun to use. It has an effect like Zoroark, only it move energy as well, and then you can evolve it into a 160HP Stage 2... Which unfortunately doesn't appeal to me as much.

Either way, I hope they keep up the mid-stage ability trend!

Am I the only one who is think about trying to do some shenanigans with this Manphy and
Xerneas from BREAKthrough.

So how rare are the Shining Pokemon going to be? Because they are obviously the gimmick of this smaller set, will they be as rare as the OG Shinings?

As collector, I would hope that they aren't SUPER rare, like at least one per box, but who knows...

I thought we would get a shining mewtwo on top of the GX, guess not.

Quite disappointed with the Eske Yoshinob artwork of Venusaur, he normally does much better than that (maybe because almost all of them he draws is for EX cards)

Also apprently 47 is Stunfisk.

I'm loving this set. Not just because of Purrloin's glorious return, but there's a lot of underappreciated Pokemon getting new cards at long last, and there's quite a lot of great artworks.

I'm really excited to use Carnivine because it has the same attack as the ol' Dark Explorers one, and I used that a lot as a one-of (shame it didn't keep Spit Squall too, though). Arbok might be fun just to see how much damage I can manage to brush off (I had a similar fun deck with PHF Liepard).

Shining Jirachi could be devastating if the lowest Basic of a line has tiny HP, as they usually do. Removing just the top evolution would be average and nothing new to the format, but *all* evolutions for only [P]? That's pretty cool. Pretty much guaranteed to get only a single prize though.

Here's to hoping for the longshot of getting a Phione to compliment Manaphy.

So, if you combined this Venusaur's ability with a Crystal Guardians Venusaur's Chlorophyll PokéPower, wouldn't all colorless energies attached to your Pokémon equal two grass energies? That would make one DCE equal four grass energies at once! (I know, I use some really outdated cards; I'm a casual collector/player)

Everybody's raving about the Mewtwo artwork, I see it similar to Rocket's Mewtwo from Gym Challenge, but not one soul wants to decribe the epic atmosphere in the Yveltal card??!? Yveltal has QUICKLY grown to be a staple in the TCG so grandiosely that its artwork so far from card after card has made the raven for me, one of my most sought after Pokémon. If you look at its hitstory of artwork especially throughout what time it has spent upon existing its work is nothing short of being atmospherically mindblowing. Dynamically moving stuff.

You forgot the Shining Ho-oh from your list

Is it confirmed that there's no more Shining cards left? Because I think #10 will definitely be Shining Genesect, because Genesect is a shiny mythical/legendary that's actually relevant. Most of these cards have tied in with the previous movies so having a shiny legendary that's actually relevant to one of the movies makes sense

I think you forgot masked royal, unless I missed it.

Oh man that Volcarona is nasty, even if you don't get to pick the Pokemon like Lysandre. I can see it seeing some play.
