I know you can't compare apples to oranges, but I've been recently thinking that true love is honestly just a pursuit that simply remains a pursuit for one's entire life. I mean everyone used to love the Simpsons. Now they're practically dead. As Adam West bluntly puts it, the type of humor back then in 1993 just doesn't compare to the type present in shows like Family Guy today. Once your lover's used up all the gas you carry, they move on to another "car." Sorry about the un-creative comparisons, by the way.
