It's best to stick with the current rule. The 3 month rule is not to prevent many username changes; its just there to prevent people from changing their usernames all the time. There are some sites where members change their usernames so frequently that people don't know who they are. We aren't bothered about usernames. We're just trying to help everyone here. Choose your words wisely in the future so they won't sound offensive.
