Why not the Mods pm a every new member of the forums a contract to not spam ect. If they breack the contract bann them for month ect. It would take care of the noob spamming problem.

Do you think it's a good idea.

Not at all! Do you know how many members joins per day? It's not possible. Even if they would do it, it is the same as if WPM would write rule that mod can ban you if you break any rule o_O

:F

Well...

If a mod did indeed send the new member and contract, what exactly would happen if the new member breaks it? He gets a ban? We do that already.

Generally, signing up on the forums means you automatically have to face the rules or otherwise get punished. I guess it's an auto-contract, in a way.

i have to say no to this one. i mean, it is a great idea, but imagine a ten year old joining the site and the first thing he gets is WPM p/ming them "Follow all the rules or you get the boot for a week" he's gonna be upset and then the mother will get invvolved and WPM is going to have to be like, "we do that for everyone" but the mother will argue he's only ten, so then your going to have to make age rules about the contracts and BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!!!....its just not gonna work.

Congratulations, I am 9 years old.

If this WERE to happen, then Pokebeach would have a lot more lawsuits... :D.

However, I have to argue with Max Shade. the parent's would probably read the contract before signing their kids up :).

But you don't know that for sure. You can't be certain because some parents let their kids do whatever they want. Since I do believe you have to agree to a contract before you register, sending the new members another one wouldn't do much good if all they have to do is say 'okay'.

I remember someone did suggest once on another website that they should give a test on the rules before they can post. So that way, if they fail, they would have to learn the rules before they could do anything on the website.

It's really impossible. Look how many members sign up daily and don't post?

They should follow the rules anyway. It's a standard in every forum.

I agree with him its not technically possible

One like Bacon said, there is already A contract just by signing up. And 2, its A great idea but I dont think it will work.

Actually there is a rules page when you are signing up. It lists the rules after you create your Profile I think.:)

But most people (like me) always just skips that part and just click I agree or something, then just happily surf where that place is. :F

Look, we never said it wasn't a great idea, but it would've had to been encooperated when the site was built, its way too late for that now.

Could make it automatic - Just install the "Welcome PM" plugin and change the message to the "rules"

Well, like this... It'll be that easy. I thought MyBB didn't have the capabilities for this. What do you guys think?

I think it is a good idea for all members to have this added to the forums so that way all of us can save the rules in our inboxes so we don't forget them at any time. If it is done. Make it encrypted so they can't be deleted. Sort of like your in box on your cell phone. (if you have one.) I am using this as an example.:)

Instead of the encryption of the rules in the PM box, don't you think something like the forum announcement above us is already sufficient?

No one reads it. Even some veteran members still do not begin their sentences with capital letters. The PM, however, will force them to. :F
