Hydreigon, Zweilous, & Deino from ‘Triplet Beat’!

Well, if anything, it did get a larger HP. Rebel Clash Hydreigon was 160, Evolving Skies Hydreigon was 170.

Maybe in the next few sets they'll be up to 190-200, and then they'll be harder to get one shotted by multiprizers, while hitting back as hard.

And then creatures inc will see this as a problem and start printing 400 HP pokemon.

Creatures has been printing a fair few energy-accelerating Stage 2 mons. Obviously the most successful has been Archeops, which barely feels like a Stage 2 due to the fact that it can be "cheated" into play with Lugia VSTAR. (Funnily enough, even without Lugia VSTAR, it still would be the most powerful Energy accelerating Stage 2, which would've made sense if Lugia didn't exist, since as a Fossil Pokemon it would've been harder to get into play. But Lugia does exist, so in practice it's absurdly unbalanced.)

Other mons of this variety include Gardevoir CRE, Magnezone ASR, Blastoise PGO, and Klinklang SIT. The only ones of these that saw any serious play was Magnezone briefly in Dialga, though Gardevoir will likely see play when Gardevoir ex comes out. Interestingly, Hydreigon actually seems worse than all of these already unviable or barely viable energy accelerators, as it's extremely luck-based and comes at a steep cost if you don't get really lucky. It would be significantly better, though probably still unplayable, if Oranguru didn't rotate out, but it does.

Not that any of these would see play for any reason, but why put the "Find a Friend" type attack on the Stage 1, that most people will just Rare Candy over, instead of on the currently useless Basic. Disappointing line all around.
minor upgrade in glc, but that's swiftly becoming as ubiquitous as using "good in edh" to excuse bad design.

very disappointing line.

Random thought: Blastoise PL has a Poke-Power that's basically the same as this new Hydreigon's, but slightly worse. However, there were multiple Pokemon released in the same set with Powers that let you easily stack Energy cards on top of the deck (Dialga PL and Delcatty PL). Theoretically, Creatures could do the same thing here and Hydreigon would actually become usable. Though, to be honest, with all the crazy energy acceleration in this format, it might still not be worthwhile.
