How exactly does Air Balloon work?

If I have a Pokemon with Air Balloon and use Dig, and either my other Pokemon or an opponent uses Earthquake, would my digger/ballooner be affected? Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.

No it wouldn't as long as the Air Balloon is still intact and not popped.

Dear diary:

Today I battled a wild Donphan. After dodging its Rock Slides, I decided to use Dig. I made my way underground and slowly drilled underneath the elephantine Pokemon. Suddenly, the earth began shaking around me. I had forgotten that Donphan can learn Earthquake! The ground above my head began to collapse and ten-feet shards of dirt and stone pelted me. A crack appeared below me and I knew it was all over. Then I remembered that I had an Air Balloon! I walked away unharmed.

Funny that, you will retain your Ground-type immunity even if you use Dig. Ninjask and Vibrava are 2 examples (the former is Flying-type, the latter has Levitate) of Pokemon that learn Dig and are immune to Earthquake while in the middle of it.

Freaky.
But yeah, you don't need to worry as long as that Air Balloon is still intact.
