So How did you discover the wonderful world of pokemon?

was it The Anime? Cards? commercial? Word of mouth?

I remember way back in Grade one, A friend bought some of the original cards in for show and tell at school, From that moment on I had to have them! plus the video games etc etc etc!!

I can't actally remember if it was the TV show or games. It was either the games when I played my cousin's Gold and could never find Mr. Pokemon (She gave me that Gold and I still have it today, though like others, it doesn't save). Or it could have been the TV show, probably a repeat of the Snorlax episode where Snorlax blocked a river (Think it was the first season).

No, but in all honesty, my friends were into the cards and I didn't really care, and then my cousin got me Leaf Green for my birthday. =D Memories...​
 
I saw the TV show on one day and got hooked.

My sister showed me it when I was small, then I got hooked on it.
I've been watching it ever since.
 
my mom got me yellow when it first came out, I remember the first time I ran into a pokemon and the volume was all the way up, I freaked out XD
I handed to to my mom not knowing what to do X3
 
When I was little my older sister started playing, so I did too. And then we started watching the anime and played the TCG and it snowballed from there.
 
A couple of friends of mine at the time (thinking it was '98 or '99) had gotten the starter deck (with the 1st edition Machamp) and were playing the game, usually we'd play the 1st edition Star Trek Card Game, and I tried one of their decks. Then a couple days later I randomly bought a pack of Base Set and pulled a holographic Venusaur. I convinced my parents to buy me the Overgrowth theme deck from and it went from there. Pokemon Blue and a gameboy from a friend, then I started watching the anime.

And now in 2010, I'm the only one of the three of us still playing, or to my knowledge, have anything to do with Pokemon.
 
It all started with the anime. I happened to be lucky to catch the first episode, where Ash gets Pikachu cause they ran out of the other starters, and then the spearow chasing him and stuff. I continued watching the Anime, even bought a few tapes for the VCR from some episodes (still own them to this day =P), and then when Pokemon Gold came out, my mom got it for me, and I've been hooked on Pokemon Anime/Games ever since. I never learned how to play the TCG, so all my cards are mostly for looks. Not sure if anything are actually useful other than looking nice.
 
My other friend across the street (not the one I sometimes talk about), had a ton of Pokémon cards. One day, (we were in like, 2nd grade) he asked me to help me sort them. Well, working with a bajillion cards kinda gets yourself to know the creatures. He told me when the show came on, and... I got hooked.

Well I saw a episode and it looked cool. :] I liked all the cool Pokemon there was. Also my brother bought a random game and it happened to be a Pokemon game so I got hooked to that too.
 
I got hooked kinda easy. I went to a friends house, so I hijacked borrowed his Game Boy Advance, put in a pokemon game for testing, and started playing. I haven't strayed ever since, though all my games have vanished. Maybe HG/SS...
 
We bought silver when I was young, as pokemon was VERY popular back then. I've been hooked ever since.

when i was 4 my sister handed me a deck of cards with pokemon on it. (an old pokemon card game XD) i was fascinated by them. so i started to watch the show a few years later.
 
I saw Pokemon Red in K-Mart and begged my mum to put it on lay-buy (However you spell that?). A little while later I had it and I was in love.
Started watching the anime every morning after that. Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z actually got me up at 6:30 every morning :| I had to get ready beforehand or I wasn't allowed. I don't know how I did it, go little me!
 
4 years ago (I think), some of my friends were playing the video games. The convinced me to try it. I did, and I loved it. Then I tried the card game... completely hooked ever since.
 
About six years ago my friend was playing TCG and a little bit of the video games. So i started watching the anime and getting TCG cards, I never started playing competitivly though. I gave up on TCG and the anime a while ago, but I still play the video games. From my first game, Ruby to Platinum and Heartgold in one week.
 
Okay, this is an interesting story...

When I was 6 years old, I was in the Boy Scouts. I was a little Tiger Cub (thingy). One of my friends had a shoebox in his hand and it had pokemon cards and he said, "Everyone can take some." So being the curious little scout I was, I stuck my hand in, looked around and grabbed a few. I wanted a Pikachu - since I knew who he was - so I searched the box and pulled one. I also pulled a Charmander. That got me into pokemon and eventually as I got older, I bought the games and completed sets and all that good stuff. Note: I still have both original cards today. :D

That's my story haha. :p
