How can i get Softmii intstalled on my wii?

I have a wii with the 4.0 menu installed and homebrew beta 8 version installed as well. I have never really used the homebrew channel for anything other than simple apps, but i want to install Softmii 2.1.1 on my wii. I dont know why when i try to install it my wii denies it with an error in homebrew. How exactly can i get softmii installed on my 4.0 wii?

Softmii isn't great. MyMenuify is a better and safer equivalent; I wouldn't use Softmii at all if you can help it.
