Ruling ho oh legend

if i used weaville sw's attack to search for 2 speacial dark energys and attached them to ho oh legend they would provide fire but if i used weaville's poke power dark engage would the energy attached to ho oh legend still provide the extra 10 damage?

is anyone going to answer?

Banuffin and I talked this over and have arrived at this answer. We could not find an official ruling, but this is what we believe. Weavile's Dark Engage would increase the damage Ho-Oh does. Ho-Oh's Poke-body does not say to treat them as basic energies, it just says to treat them as {R} instead of their usual type. It doesn't change the fact that Ho-Oh would be treated as a dark type or say to ignore all effects the energy has on it, so if a Call Energy was on it, it could still do that for an attack.~Mark
