Ruling greatball for lvl.x

Ok if you use a greatball 85/stormfront which says you can place a basic pokemon on the bench can you get a level x card and place it on a basic pokemon that can use the level x

No, you can't. Because Level X Pokémon aren't Basic Pokémon Cards (Even ones like Cresselia Lv.X), they're Level Up form cards.

To clarify a bit, while they are considered a "Pokemon", they aren't considered a specific stage while in the deck. Therefore, cards seeking out only a specific stage cannot seek out a LV.X.

IMO you can search for the level x because it's actually considered the cressalia
So basically if machamp used take out it would be ko'd because it's still a basic look up the ruled

You'll have to show us where you're reading from, because according to the compendium, you're wrong.

Q. Can you use Roseanne's Research to search for a Lv.X Pokemon that levels up from a Basic (i.e. Mewtwo Lv.X)?
A. No, you cannot. Until they are put in play Lv.X Pokemon are not considered to be Basics nor Evolution cards. (Sep 25, 2008 PUI Rules Team)

Different card in this ruling, but the principle is the same. Pokémon LV. X are neither Basic nor Evolution cards until they are put into play, so you can't search for them with Rosy's or with Great Ball. You can only pull a LV. X with cards that specifically say you can pull LV. X (i.e. Premier Ball) or with a card that pulls for Pokémon in general (such as Bebe). Also, Beginning Door allows you to pull an Arceus LV. X from your deck.

The exact text on card is
"search your deck for a basic pokemon and put it onto your bench shuffle your deck afterward."

After reading it I think it's not correct that you can't search for a lv.x because on the bench because on the lv.x card it has to be put on the active pokemon

No, that's not why it's not correct, it's not correct because lvX Are not basics when in the deck, which has been noted several times in this thread. Maybe you should've read this thread or a rulebook instead of the card?

I'm not gonna be one will be arguing about this but why don't you go to go-pokemon.com
And look to see if they can answer the question

While a pokemon is in the deck, it is treated as a level up card, not a stage of any kind. It can be gotten through Bebe's search because it states a basic or evolution card. That was then erratad to mean any pokemon. Celio's Network is also capable of choosing it, although that isn't in the current modified format.

You can't argue, because the compendium, the ACTUAL rulings instituted by the ACTUAL organization, has already answered as banuffin had used to support his assertion.

Answer incorrectly without proof again and expect more severe consequences.
