Spin-Off Glitch in Pokemon Shuffle?

I was playing Pokemon Shuffle yesterday, and something very strange happened. I was saving up coins so I could buy a Complexity -1, and when I finally had enough coins, I used the Complexity -1 on the Mega Gengar level. When I started playing the level, the game said "The Complexity -1 has removed a Pokemon from the board!". However, no Pokemon were removed. I had all 4 of my Pokemon: Sableye, Misdreavus, Absol, and Liepard. Did I make a mistake, or did a glitch just cause me to waste 9000 coins?

Certain stages have additional Pokemon that appear in them beside what Pokemon you bring with you. Complexity-1 removes one non-support Pokemon. I think Haunter is the Pokemon it removes in that level if memory serves correctly.

The Complexity -1 didn't remove the Haunter either.

Maybe its because Haunter -although not one of your Pokemon- is actually super effective versus Gengar and thus considered supportive for you.
