Ruling Gengar vs. Unown G

I recently bought a championship deck that features Gengar (SF 18/100) and its mighty Shadow Room attack.

I also have an Unown G from a friend. When the Unown G is attached, it does its thing and prevents attacks' effects done to that poke'mon.

Now, as I read it, the Unown G's stopping attacks' effects ability would stop Gengar's Shadow Room attack from doing damage to that poke'mon since the damage actually comes from the attack's effect.

What does Poke'beach think? This call is essential to a test game I just played as well.

Thanks.

You are 100% correct. Unown G prevents all effects of attacks that are not damage, and putting damage counters on a pokemon is prevented.
