Hello Poke people.

I'm a new and inexperienced user and find it really tough to infer which Pokemon character the regular user's are referring to when they leave out the set name. For example "Smeargle" not Smeargle (MT).

1. What is the best way to encourage people to refer to the set name when replying to questions I post in my threads?

2. Would it be over the top to politely "require" set names in replies to my questons?

Thanks in advance for your understanding, Munchlaxx.

For the most part, most people have memorised what has come out and what hasn't; and what is more often used than the other. Smeargle, for example, only has two incarnations in the current format. One is Smeargle δ and the other one is in MT. Due to the lack of usage of δ, the default option would be for MT. For some cards, like Salamance EX or Flygon, there are about 5 in rotation, making it very difficult to discern what it is, though context should be able to define it. If you want for people to say it, you should state so in the original post. Most people won't bother with the sets or extra information.

I suggest you also put all your similiar questions into one thread, and try to get the know the 493 Pokémon better, as well as studying the set lists from time to time.

P.S. houndoom.. It's SW not MT smeargle..

O.K.

I guess for the moment I have to mention at the beginning of my posts that I still need some spoon feeding of set initials with Poke names.

Regarding putting similar questions into the same thread ... should I do that by adding a new question into the first post with the edit button? ... Will people notice it there best?

For the most part, I would expect for people to read the first question more, though some people only really notice if you post it in again. Then again, most people ignore it if there are more posts on it. I say editing.

Thanks Lieutenant H.

I have given it a try (in red) in my latest thread (in red) in the deck-garage.
