Hey everyone. Here is my take on Hoopa-U. :] The team seems to me quite effective and take into consideration most threats these days.

Hoopa-Unbound @ Life Orb
Ability: Magician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Hyperspace Fury
- Psychic
- Substitute
- Drain Punch

Hoopa-U is the wallbreaker of this team. Gigantic offensive stats and the Hyperspace Fury move which ignores Sub and Protect make Hoopa one of the best wallbreakers. Psychic is another STAB and his only special move on the set which is quite enough to break through defensive walls. Sub deals with Bisharp's Sucker Punch and might save Hoopa against Mega Metagross. Drain Punch serves as a great way to deal with Steel types while also getting a little bit of recovery which means you can use it against Ferrothorn without worry too much about its Iron Barbs. I'm considering replacing Psychic for Fire Punch to deal better with Scizor. Making this set fully physical with Jolly nature. What do you think?

Thundurus (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Taunt

Thundurus is a great anti-offensive Pokémon that fits well with Hoopa's role as a wallbreaker. Hoopa-U destroys walls and Thundurus destroys offense. This is a pretty standard set which does its job and more by also using priority TW in order to make fast Pokémon slower, potentially helping Hoopa-U later on to outrun them. Since Mew quite common and faster than Hoopa, Thundurus is the perfect partner to deal with this threat, with its Taunt and TW. Since Mew commonly leads, so is Thundurus.

Garchomp @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Dragon Tail
- Toxic

If SR is important to set as fast as possible, if Mew is not around or that it just feels better to keep Thundurus for later, Garchomp is a great lead instead. With Rocky Helmet and Rough Skin it is my only way to deal effectively with Talonflame. Originally I used Mamoswine to deal with other common Garchomp these days but then I noticed how this team is so weak to Talonflame so I had to change it.
The set is a standard Tank Chomp and uses Dragon Tail to clear set up sweepers and Toxic to wear down bulky attackers.
azumarill.gif

Azumarill @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 92 HP / 252 Atk / 164 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Play Rough
- Knock Off
- Waterfall

Although the team already has a very good wallbreaker, Azumarill is here to make sure Hoopa-U won't fall under pressure or get walled by Hippowdon. Packing an amazing ability with huge attack boosting item and priority, Azumarill can be a life saver. Not only that he is a powerful wallbreaker but can be very effective against offense, threatening all kinds of fragile set up sweepers with its priority AJ and destroying Mega Altaria, Keldeo, Mega Diancie, Mega Lopunny and Dragonite (depends on set) on the offense side, and Mega Sableye, Heatran Tyranitar and Slowbro on the defensive side. Knock Off is always nice to have for the option to remove important items from the opponent's Pokémon. The speed investment is to outrun Clefable and Tyranitar,

pinsir-mega.gif

Pinsir @ Pinsirite
Ability: Hyper Cutter
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Quick Attack
- Return
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat

The team needs a fast Pokemon and they also need a set up sweeper, Mega Pinsir comes with those things and more:
Having a HUGE power with its ability and offensive stats, Mega Pinsir threat so many Pokémon and once he gets a SD boost, it is very hard to resist its attacks. Also, Mega Lopunny Conkeldurr and Keldeo are very common from what I have seen so Mega Pinsir deals very nicely with these threats.
latias.gif

Latias (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 72 HP / 184 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Defog
- Healing Wish

So one spot left and there are so many things the team still needs. A defogger, especially for Pinsir, a bulky kind of backbone Pokémon to switch into some moves and give the team momentum, some kind of recovery supporter and a way to deal with Mega Charizard Y better as he really puts large pressure on the team. Latias fits to all that with its good bulk and high speed. This is another standard set but I find it very effective with the ability to not only keep my team safe from rocks but also give any one of my offensive Pokémon another chance to wallbreak or sweep with Healing Wish.
