Edit: Since everybody who thinks of posting in this topic is probably going to complain about the names of the versions, I had no real choice actually, as if I named them Light and Dark versions, it would sound ALOT like Pokemon Black and White versions, so I'm honestly stumped as to what to do here.
Note: Since I have no dang clue where to put this, I'm putting this right here for now. If this is in the wrong place please moves this and thanks in advance.
Since I have taken some interest in Video Game design in recent years, I've been thinking of what kind of game I'd like to make. Ideas range from a platformer such as Mario or an RPG monster battler such as Pokemon. For the most part I've went with the latter choice and until recently conceived of it with completely original characters not related to any other series. Then I took some time to think and eventually decided it should become a Digimon game should I ever get the skill and requirements necessary to make the game.
Digimon, in the past and as of now, has no way of competing with Pokemon. Twilight and Eclipse are plans to change all that completely. While the concept is still going to resemble Pokemon, many other aspects will be very different, but let me at least get some other details explained first. Unlike the recent Digimon games, they will not be released on the DS or any Nintendo console. Instead, Twilight version will be released on the PSP with Eclipse version being released on the PS3, with both requiring to trade for version exclusive, though Eclipse will have more exclusives due to it being on the PS3 and difficulties connecting without Online play or a PSP system.
And the mascot Digimon? Now I am not the best at drawing stuff like this so my art may or may not be what you would call quality, but at least I get some basic pics done until I take more advanced art classes in later years.
THIS, is the grand Twilidramon:

And THIS, is the mighty Eclipdramon:

Unlike past version mascots of the series, these two act as final bosses instead of Digimon you get rather early as starting Digimon. Both Eclipdramon and Twilidramon are of the Super Ultimate level, a rarely acknowledged class of Digimon far stronger than Mega. Each will have a key part to the story in their versions, but unlike the Legendaries of Pokemon, each story will be designed differently to suit each of them. Twilidramon, as a more intelligent Digimon, will serve as a regular final boss seen in other kinds of games, and will be encountered far earlier in the game where you’ll be defeated by it in the first encounter. It stays as Twilidramon the entire storyline with its previous stages not seen at all until an egg for the Fresh form is acquired upon completion of the story.
Eclipdramon, as a more savage yet unintelligent beast, will have the opposite kind of story. It will be fought on multiple occasions with each of its stages from Fresh to Super Ultimate fought atleast once before beating the game. As it has no real goal but to destroy it is controlled by the old Digimon Cherubimon, with him being fought directly before facing Eclipdramon, although depending on previous encounters with Eclipdramon's earlier stages it could be another evil Digimon controlling him instead.
At the end of both story modes for each version an egg of their respective fresh forms is obtained, with the other stages of them being found as rare wild spawns, even Twilidramon and Eclipdramon being fought again as Wild Digimon, though much more rarely than facing their Mega or earlier stages. Overall the story won't will not be so light hearted like past games have, and will have somewhat more darker tones with an older cast of characters equivalent to what is seen in Digimon Data Squad.
Now that details such as that are aside let's get down to some other features such as combat. There will be no random encounters. Instead, wild Digimon are spawned on the field similar to other modern RPGs such as Blue Dragon for the 360. Maps will be large enough to show every Digimon in its full size on the map, though your own Digimon will not follow you around.
Battles are turn based similar to Pokemon; however, action commands will be programmed heavily into the game to add more involvement and to simulate real time combat, though it is completely up to the player to use these actions. Sometimes certain button combinations can be used to use less MP for a move or deal more damage than normal, or to dodge or evade an attack. Some actions may be secret and not given to the player for them to discover on their own, with these having the most special effects. Like I said, these are all to add variety and efficiency as most commands are optional and up to the player to use.
Digimon will have as many as traits (Or abilities in Pokemon's case) depending on the form of the Digimon. Super Ultimate’s can have up to 7 traits, while the early Fresh Digimon will have only 1 trait to use. Some traits can range from one such as Eclipdramon's Multistrike (Select multiple attacks in the same turn but lower defense) or Imperialdramon Dragon Mode's Wolverine (Attacks as if it were a Super Ultimate instead of a Mega).
If a Digimon's line splits in a lot of areas (Such as Agumon's line), Traits from other lines can be carried over into another line, such as taking SkullGrerymon's Shadow Heal (Darkness damage does nothing and heals instead, but takes more damage from Light attacks) over to ShineGreymon, giving it a trait it would not normally have.
Digimon breeding will function similar to Pokemon's breeding concept, except EVERY move can be carried over as a move inherited by a baby Digimon. Even traits can be carried over in such a way. There is a limit though, as the Digimon must have a similar relation of either a body style (Or Egg Group), species category (Out of Dragon, Beast, Plant, Insect, Bird, Aqua, Machine, Mutant, Light, and Dark), or related to each other by evolutionary means. While Digimon do not normally have genders in past games they will in these games.
As there are two versions, many aspects will be different between versions. Many differences in the Wild Digimon encountered and locations visited will be noted within the main story, with the ability to go to locations in the other version not available until the end of the story. Trading is a must between versions, and must be used to get Digimon not in the other version. As I stated above already, since Eclipse version is on the PS3, where communications would be difficult without online play or a PSP, many of the exclusives from Eclipse rather than Twilight. Total Digimon will be at least somewhere around 1,000+, with every Digimon up to date getting an appearance in the game, even ones such as Shoutmon from the recent Anime season and old favorites such as Agumon and Veemon.
The graphics of the game will be of high quality to suit the PS3 and PSP's recent standards, with each version, while having the same engine, will be fine tuned to suit both consoles to allow both compatibility and high performance. Digimon Twilight will receive a heavier emphasis on graphics and audio than Eclipse inorder to have both games look very similar despite massive hardware differences between the PS3 and PSP.
There will be large view distances and everything will run at a solid 60 FPS. Environments and characters from humans to Digimon will be highly detailed with beautiful models and textures. The texture style will be similar to what is typically known for Digimon but will not use Cel-Shaded graphics and use a more realistic texture for Digimon, though still retaining the graphical style and looking more closer to the Japans only Digimon: X-Evolution except at an even higher level.
Audio will be amped up as well, with almost all tracks being completely brand new and done using the maximum power of the PS3 and PSP. Voice acting will be used for cut scenes and most NPCs. Digimon will have more animalistic sound effects instead of more human-like growling like Bowser from Mario or all Digimon anime seasons; Greymon will be using more dinosaur-like roars and others such as Eclipdramon using more monstrous roars similar to Japanese Kaiju.
There will be many locations within the game to explore and see, with many secret Digimon only available after beating the game, with an even more special Super Ultimate being available if one manages to obtain both Twilidramon and Eclipdramon.
Online features range from tournament play to standard battling or trading. Multiplayer battles can use either 1 to 3 Digimon at once for each side depending on the settings chosen. There will be a trading feature functioning like the GTS in D/P/Pt/HG/SS, but to avoid the problems of that system EVERYTHING at Mega Level or higher is banned from it with some of the more rarer Ultimate level Digimon being banned as well. When trading privately with a friend be it online or by connecting with another system in real life, any Digimon can be traded without limitation.
So many plans I have for a Digimon game is something most probably can’t imagine seeing in Digimon due to how past and modern games in that series go, but what I believe is that Digimon can stand a chance with Twilight and Eclipse. Sadly, I believe that this may never come to be as getting in contact with Bandai to do this would probably be impossible, but there is that chance though that they might let me do eventually in later years, but most likely not.
Any thoughts? And no this is not based on the STUPID Twilight film series. Twilidramon is meant to be from the time of day twilight with golden skies and Eclipdramon is meant to appear during an eclipse and even having a partial eclipse shaped mark on it's tailfin.
Note: Since I have no dang clue where to put this, I'm putting this right here for now. If this is in the wrong place please moves this and thanks in advance.
